Does anyone else use Lactose Free Milk?

Just wondered how long it took to take effect :flower:

Ive got Lissy on a lactose free milk, although she wouldnt take it at 1st so was advised to put a bit in at a time with her old milk... so all in all id say about 3 weeks it has taken to get her onto her 6oz of pure lactose free and for it to work... although if you see my other post.. it may not even be the milk at all

Thanks for ur reply!

Lola wouldn't take it because its too thin - fussy girl! I got some thickener so she has it now but still isnt impressed with the taste!

Why did they put Lissy on it? X

Shes been screaming during feeds and HV witnessed it because they didnt believe me when i said something wasnt right, where she looked uncomfortable and arching her back HV agreed, we tried many things before this milk. The milk taste isnt the same, its not as sweet as what theyre used to thats why it takes them a while to get used to it, so at 1st we gave 1oz nutramigen to 5oz cow and gate then upped the nutramigen ozs and lowered the c&g after a few days... worked a treat ! I have also changed the way ive been feeding her so whether its that or the milk i dnt know  but everyone says its more likely the milk.

What are the symptoms for your LO? was it a pain for you to get the milk ? Jus asking as my drs was useless and HV has to give us their tins from their office as dr wont prescribe :( x

My 8 week old daughter is on SMA LF because she was screaming during feeds and after feeds, was showing signs of colic and nappies were almost complete liquid...she was waking up while her tummy digested and was in so much discomfort it hurt me to watch her and not be able to do anything.

She went from Cow and Gate 1 to Cow and Gate comfort, then to SMA gold, then doc said enough is enough cos he was furious the HV was changing her milk all the time and avoiding the SMA Lactose Free. She took to it straight away and is now happily chowing down, sleeping better and much happier! Smiles now too!

Connor was put on sma LF because he was being really sick, constant diareah and screaming during and after feeds. It did help abit but then we found out he had a totally milk allergy so was put on neocate. He wouldnt take the lf for first few feeds but after that he would take it

MY LO uses Enfamil LF in fact, I use Prosobee...it's a soy formula and it's lactose free as well ( I thot lactose was a cow milk thing??)... anyway, when I tried switching to Enfamil milk based fromula, she wouldn't use it....... She was on Similac at 1st but I found milk based formulas made her very gassy and fussy and she hated the infacol so I switched to soy formula and never looked back, she has no problems........

DD has had a better tummy since bottle 1 of the LF! They are so much happier with a more settled tummy. Is yours now getting constipated? DD has been for the last 2 days and it's really upsetting to watch her so upset. Having to give her water between feeds to make sure she is getting enough fluid to help her.
