Ladies at Slimming World

Can you go to these things pregnant? i dont see the point dieting well pregnant, i know the scales wont be going down right now so dont really see the point well thats what i think anyways! tho after baby is here i will deff be dieting NON STOP!

tho i know some people diet to eat better which is good i guess but i deff will be dieting to loose weight!

slimming worlds the only one i know of that you can do as its based on healthy eating and you can eat as much as you like of a large variety of foods (chicken, rice, veg etc) i dont go but my sister goes and im loosely following the rules as i totally overdid it a xmas and think otherwise id just eat chocolate and biscuits all day! lol they dont let you go with the aim to lose weight though and your midwife has to keep an eye on the plan your following and your weight - if she withdraws her approval they will not let you go. xxx
 
I was consiouse of going as well with having the belly up, but I was made to feel very welcome. One of the social team is also expecting, but not as far on as me so im not on my own. She said she wasnt going to ask me mny goal weight untill after bubs is born.

As for the midwife, I have to get her to fill a form in to say she is happy with me going to Slimming World, but my consultant diddnt have the form either, but shes going to fetch it next week, im also seeingt the MW on the 19th and she said there was no problem with getting her to fill it in then. She basicly said that its a legality they required. She said shes being doing the job 8 years and only ever known one MW to refuse to fill it and it turns out that the woman woh was pregnant had an history of bulemia in previouse pregnancys. How did you find it?

Im realy looking forward to it, iv said all along that I dont want my son eating shite while hes growing up and hear I am shoveling it him by the bucket load before hes even born. Role on tomorrow
 
Can I just be clear I am NOT going to diet!!!!! Slimming world is a healthy eating plan which allows you to eat as much as your body needs of certain foods - ie fruits/veg/lean meat and potatoes. I am not dieting but I do feel i need to follow a plan to keep me and my baby healthy. For example a typical day for me might be porridge and a banana for breakfast, omlette with cheese and with loads of salad and fruit and a yoghurt for lunch and then a quorn(I prefer this to mince) spag bol with as much spaghetti and quorn as I need plus a fruit salad after if I want. It's not about dieting but just making sure I'm eating a healthy diet for my baby.

It was ok - can;t say the woman was overly welcoming - she is supposed to be dropping off my pack today for expectant mothers but I am feeling much better about the fact I am doing it. To be fair I've not put on that much weight due to m/s anyway so my aim is to really make sure anymore weight that goes on is baby and not fat :) good luck with your group :)
 
Hows your first day on plan gone?

I feels loads better for having some structure and its stopping me from eating crap. I had 1 jaffa cake & syned it.

It's gone well but I have a banging headache - maybe a coincidence or maybe sugar withdrawal :) I did have a highlights hot choc earlier. Feel like you though loads better for having a structure and for eating loads of fruit and veg :) I had my scan today and baby's tummy was slightly above the average line - I felt guilty because I thought that's my fault for all the rubbish i've been eating so I'm going to be good now for the remainder of my pregnancy so he can get all the nutrients he needs :) the woman came around earlier to drop the book off which i thought was nice of her so maybe I got the wrong impression yesterday :)
 
I was at target weight when I got pregnant, but my midwife refused point blank to sign my form (which I wasn't expecting, as there were pregnant ladies in the class already).

I plan to return to classes when I have my baby, so that I don't fall into bad behaviours again. It's just such a shame that my midwife was so blinkered. Good luck with your healthy eating- it really does work wonders!

well done to getting to target weight and I don;t understand why your midwife would not allow you to do it. I don;t see mine until Jan 19th though so hopefully she will sign it off.
 
No, I couldn't understand it either, the Midwife seemed very rigid in her thinking, but unfortunately this is my experience of the Midwives that look after me...I think she was a little blinkered in her thinking.

It has meant that I have relaxed my control on my eating habits quite a lot during pregnancy, but I will be straight back to it after my LO joins us - I have too many lovely pre-pregnancy clothes to fit back into!
 
glad it went well hun, im enjoying the healthy meals my sister is making from their recipe book and all the fresh fruit n veg - although will be allowing myself the odd treat. although who told you we're meant to put on 1 stone 10 max? ive heard its 2 stone average and ive put on 2 and a half (which im devestated about) but midwife said its healthy and partly due to water retention xxx

As I am overweight I have read that i should only be putting on a max of 1 stone ten pounds - I think if you were a healthy weight before 2 and a half stone is average.

I haven;t been 100 % this week but soooo much better than the previous week and I feel loads better for it.
 
So I went tonight and I had stayed the same which is good - if I can make sure any weight gain is baby and not fat that's my aim :) How did you get on fairy?

Well done hunni, but dont forget that you actually could of lost weight this last week, but because baby is gaining weight it wont show, if ya get what im saying!! Its still a positive outcome. xx
 
Hiya eulma82, iv not been ignoring you, havnt been on for a while. I lost 2.5lb on Monday and was over joyed, but I think thats more to do with the fact that my diet was so bad prior to SW and its shocked my system. I feel loads better for doing it though, seen as iv got around 4 stone to loose after the baby weight is off, iv got more than enough reserves. I wont mind too much if I stay the same this week, but another loose would be nicer. My main aim is just not to gain any more.

How you finding your second week?
