So....about those blue dye tests....specifically clearblue plus....

Should ALL skinny, slightly off centered lines (that show up in the time frame)ALWAYS be regarded as false positives/evaps?

Yes.
unless the test line on a blue dye is insanely dark, I count it as an evap.
My husband has had some pretty convincing lines on those.. once his line was darker than my evap and neither of us was pregnant.

use a reliable pink dye unless you want to get your hopes up for no reason.

Yeah I kinda figured. I have a box of them for whatever reason....oh right~~that's ALL my wal mart had left that day!
I figured MAYBE some brands were better than others with the blue dye but figured I'd ask here to be safe!!

I don't trust any blue dye tests, especially clearblue plus, HOWEVER I have read many stories on the net about thin blue lines eventually turning into bfps. There is always something to give use hope! I think the negative stories definitely outdo the positive ones though x

I've used a few JUST to see evap lines and keep the hope alive ... I can't even manage that!! I got so pee'd off a few days ago at lack of lines (BFPs and evaps), I ripped open a BFN FRER and stuck it under the hairdryer ....

I think my hairdryer is pregnant :(

I wish I had done that to my FRER the other day! Be interesting to see how many hairdryers are pregnant compared to women.

 sorry, but that pregnant hair dryer really gave me a chuckle!!

If it makes you feel any better, I dipped a wondfo in coke and it's positive. I should have little bottles of coke running around the house soon

There was a time that blue dye tests were the only ones available and I got my bfp my very first bfp on one:) however in recent times I found that I always get a bfp on them even when not pregnant grrr but it was good fun to do when I was sick of bfn's lol I say sell them on eBay and get yourself some frer's and a digi and then u will know if Yoyr bfp is for real :) xx

Hey thats my trick! Yes... most but not all, hairdryers are pregnant. The heater under my desk is too. :)

I feel you, Ive done BOTH just to see a line and get hopeful. :)

btw, I think the only reason the skinny off center lines turn to BFPs is because that person was pregnant and when they had enough hcg it was positive, I still think when the line was skinny off center (and sometimes even centered and faint) it was still negative at that time... because not enough hcg.

I have found the Walgreens brand blue dyes to be pretty reliable and they were nice and dark before FRER. They are 1 line negative, 2 lines positive. I think I got a box of 5 on sale for $10.99. That said, I have had HORRIBLE "evap" lines on blue dyes that register as a plus or minus.

I don't think we have a Walgreens in our state at all!! But what a great price!
I just have to post a pic of my cbplus from yesterday!

I don't completely distrust clearblue. I had a very clear bfn on one and on the second a thin blue evap line, but it was only half of the line.

hmm, whats it say on the instructions? I had boots blue dye that said even if the line is skinny then it still counts as positive..

I have had so many lines like that when I wasnt prego. Off centered and skinny is a bad sign. I personally would not trust it, esp with the other tests being either negative or super faint. Judging by your FRER I think you will get a nice line in the next few days. GL

Blue dye tests are HORRIBLE!!! 95% of the time you'll get an evap (unless you're pregnant of course). For a blue dye to be considered positive, it has to be thick and all one color. I've had thin blue lines, and thick blotchy evaps. I came across an article of a couple who had been trying for about 2 years, took a clear blue easy and got an evap. They told EVERYONE, and were so so excited. They went in for an ultrasound.. no baby, no sac, nothing. The doctor told her she was never pregnant... I'll try and dig it up. I was in tears reading it xx

I had them so I used them, what can I say? One had no line and this was the other. And you know.....I've told many ladies the same general rule of blue dye....the off centered and skinny ones are evaps/false positives. Yes, I know it to be true...I've had many of them. I just had to post it anyway :haha:

Seriously....I don't need to read that! I know that they can be total junk. I'm surprised that couple didn't do a digi or doctor's test to confirm before telling people....

Can someone please help with this, the top test was taken last week and the bottom one this morning. Didn't appear straight away but within 10mins, going out of my mind are they EVAP lines or positive as super skinny and ever so slightly off centre but much darker this morning
