ladies help please... possible cleft lip?

Hi everyone I had my 20 week gender ultrasound today and and proudly team pink!!! However something just doesn't look quite right about her top lip, and I've had 2 people tell me it looks like she has a cleft. My doctor didnt say anything about it and I'm going to call tomorrow to ask him to look again but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and would you mind looking at her pic and giving me your opinions please??

I see a perfect top lip line, usually it will be dark and gray-with no white or white line because that shows the skin and cleft palate will be missing that area. I may be wrong but your little angel looks to have a top lip to me

They don't look for that on the profile view, but do a nose and lips from the top. Did they do that?

Hello! Not an expert at assessing scan pics, but cleft lip is not just about the top lip ,as you know- it goes much further inside, hence also being called cleft palate- and since your scan is a sagittal section of your bubs, I think you would probably see quite an obvious difference and wouldn't just look like a strangely shaped top lip- I'm sure that pic is just a slightly odd angle, probably caught baby doing some strange little movement or flexing her head! Phone your doc, check and make yourself feel at ease, I'm sure he/she will reassure you that that's a thing they would have looked for. Don't worry too much, I have often wondered what different bits and pieces were on my scans. x x

Maybe they checked and just didn't give it to you? They don't print all the shots they take at ours as they take probably at least 30-40 each time with the two babies.

I would say no, that is a bad quality scan- but to me it looks like a bit of ghosting on the edges because she moved?! I've seen someone post on here thinking their kid had 7 toes on one foot for the same reason!

looks fine to me beuatiful little girl ive had a problem with my sons leg he is missing two toes and a bone in his leg. they are very good at spotting things and would have noticed a cleft lip. my condition is very rare. cleft lip is always checked for and not rare at all x
