Ladies in the UK

I rang the docs when I got my BFP and asked the receptionist what I was supposed to do, she said I had to see a doc first so I was given an appointment for when I was 5 weeks, here she took my blood pressure, went over the things I should avoid eating, told me to take Prenatals etc etc and referred me to the midwife. She also gave me a folder that has everything in including my blue maternity notes (is this the norm?) she told me to take this with me to my first midwife appointment where I am to expect a blood test (not to check for rising hsg, they don't do that here). I got letters through the post about 5 days later telling me my midwife appointment (I'll be 11w +3 and it's at my gp's surgery) and my first scan at local hospital which I'll be 13w for.

:flower:

Its confusing, I wont truley know until the doctor confirms, I get between the 6th and 10th October depending what ones I use and whether they use ovulation or LMP.

I made a thread https://www.babyandbump.com/pregnancy-buddies/866321-due-beginning-oct.html

Usually they work it based on LMP. I callled my gp at around 7 weeks, and then they referred me to midwife. My first app is on 1st Feb and i'll be 10 weeks.

Yeah I ovulate later than average not much thanks to the Clomid but i guess when we get to scans timeframe will be smoothed out, so excited

Congratulations !!!!!
With holly i saw my gp first who just made my booking in app with the midwife really. (well he made an unnerving comment too about "lets hope it sticks" which i found a bit stressful at the time)..

This time I made an appointment with the midwife straight away.

yes its this 'let's hope it sticks' thing that scares me! i have been having some real stabbing cramps today, hope is nothing bad :nope:

found it! thanks :)

i think i might have tried a 10miu today, i realise i had them mixed up with my 20mius, just the IC types. i hardly got a line today so presume that was a 10miu

aww yes we are pretty much at the same point then :) im 12dpo today :) FF is saying im due 9th Oct according to my O day :)

i just tried to click your chart link in your sig but it doesnt work?

Hi al nice to bump into you again ! I'm confused about what your saying with the miu tests, surely you would get strongest line with 10miu as it needs less hormone to detect a positive than the 20? Just find it all quite interesting

Alandsa, I'm 11 dpo today, I reckon EDD is 7 Oct, but I don't have a cycle length to put into all these calculators so I could be wrong

We should make / join a thread for early october due dates x

I'm also due 7Oct, which hubby ain't to happy about as its his bday on the 10th :laugh2:

I have had fairly bad nausea and really burny BBS, which I worry are just going to get worse...

I'll head over to the oct due date thread and catch u there

Shineystar - oh maybe I have got confused with the strengths of them lol! I am guessing I used one of my less sensitive tests today as was very faint line but the CB one was a proper line. I thought 10 was the less sensitive one lol I'm Confused lol

Congratulations!!! :hugs:
I went to my GP as I had some concerns regarding my previous miscarriages, she tested my urine to make sure I wasn't dehydrated due to my severe morning sickness, worked out how far on I was going by my last period and she gave me the phone number for the midwife to make an appointment which I have on the 2st Feb.

I think what it means is that the no is how many micrograms in urine that it will detect, so the less the number, the less ur level of hcg needs to be so that it shows up?

I'm of a science/health background so I always like to do lots of research around all these things, anyhoo u got ur BFP so it's all good :happydance:

Congratulations !!!!
Personally i don't bother with gps they don't do anything no bloods no tests no scans - seems pointless at the gps I go to. If you know which hospital you can apply online around 8 weeks and then the hospital will send you appointment times with scans etc . You can also go on Internet for ratings of your local hospital to make your decision

Good luck

That's good but I doubt they will do that in Scotland, NHS Scotland seems prehistoric when it comes to technology... Unless some one can correct me?

So I rang docs today and I have to go in tomorrow at 4pm, taking in my morning urine for confirmation! Didn't expect that!

ooh exciting! the receptionist just said to me to come in and see the GP and i asked if i need to bring in a sample and she said no they will sort everything from that appointment. i might do my digi that morning and then bring that with me lol. im not sure how long the display lasts?

I'm not sure how long they last, I'm going to take my FRERs tho :haha:

Hi ladies, congrats on all your pregnancies!!!

I went to the doctor at around 4 weeks (just after I missed my period) and they pretty much just said "congrats and come back at 8 weeks to book in", so wasn't really necessary going in.

I then tried to call the maternity unit at the hospital to book direct but they said I had to be referred by a GP so I had another appointment with the GP today and they registered all my details to be sent off to the midwife and gave me a booklet with coupons for free stuff and a coupon for a pregnancy goody bag which you have to collect from Argos.

I think different parts of the country work differently, some areas allow you to book directly with the midwife and miss out the GP altogether.

:)

Hey ladies, I have first appointment on Friday - am going to do a digi test on Thurs night to check all is still well. I keep sseeing mentions of FRER, at the risk of sounding thick, what is this???

Ps: Does anyone know why I dont have the emoticons anymore?

FRER = First Response Early Result

You should be able to get the smileys if you click "go advanced" or "advanced reply" or something like that :)
