It sounds like you were happier with the cheaper venue overall. I don't think you can choose one over the other just for the wow factor. After all you need to feel relaxed and happy on your big day!

I have had to settle for second best as the venue I would love to get married in is too expensive - they had a minimum spend, which was more than we had budgeted for. Realistically we could have chosen the more expensive venue, but it would have meant compromising on everything else. This way I can have all the little extras!

You could go back for a second viewing at both of the venues - it is a good idea to look at them straight after one another.

If you have a set budget, will choosing the more expensive venue mean you need to compromise elsewhere?

No that's where we're lucky money isn't an option so it's about which one feels right and i like both of them the same lol
Thanks for your reply just wish they did the carvery idea at the posher one hate the idea of having ponsey meals with hardly any portion and arty farty food want nice proper grub but its so gorgeous, tough decision. x

What about the internal décor, would either of them compliment your purple colour scheme better than the other?

Whilst you might regret not going for the wow factor, you also may regret not going for some where you feel comfortable so you can truly enjoy your day.

Can you go back to the manor and view it with someone other than the man who showed you around? Maybe someone else would make you feel more at ease.
