I'm 36 weeks pregnant, i have been at times regularly contracting since Wednesday night, i went to the dr Thursday afternoon and at 35+6 i was already 2cm dilated and 30% effaced, baby's head was down and she said she could feel his head from checking my cervix! Since i have had several several occasions of regular contractions with cramping and then they slow down after a few hours and at times really painful!
Yesterday i was sitting at my dinning room table for a good hour (maybe a little longer) putting legos together my son had just got for his birthday, when i got up i told my hubby "man i'm really sweaty down there" and then felt the back of my pants and i was wet! Went to the bathroom and my undies were soaked, I smelt it and it wasn't pee (my pee has had a weird smell this pregnancy) but i was wearing light color undies and its was clear. There wasn't any other discharge with it at all. I waited around to see if it you happen again and it never did, in fact i haven't had really any at all discharge since. Could that have been some of my water leaking? Everyone says i need to go be seen today but i feel if it was my water by now (the next morning) something else would have leaked! So i'm thinking maybe just really watery discharge??? Anyone with any experience like this??
I am having horrible back pain and wanted to try and take a warm bath to help it but i'm nervous to with the chance of it being my water leaking because i heard that can cause infection. So i don't know what to do. I don't want to seem crazy for going back to the dr yet again and esp since it hasn't happened yet!
I know if i call my dr they are going to want to see me and i just honestly don't feel like going, i'm so run down from everything over the past week i just want to sleep!!

Just wanted to know if anyone knew of this happening or if it happened to them?? I just feel that honestly if it was my water being it is the next morning i would have had something else by now and i haven't...

You really do need to go to the hospital Hun. Call them immediately and explain what happened. They should call you in and do an internal test and swab you to check for amnio fluid. With my son I woke at 3am to pee and realised that my pjs were a bit wet. Too wet for normal discharge (sorry for tmi) but as I woke to pee I knew I hadn't wet myself. The mw confirmed it was my hind waters and I was booked to be induced the next morning. I had cramps all day but no firm contractions. I gave up, went to bed and then my front waters popped. Two others in my NCT group had waters leak and they never went in to labour on their own and had to be induced. They will be able to tell really easily, so do go and get checked. Good luck xx

Also I had no obvious leaking between that initial bit and the full pop. Also back to back babies tend to cause leaks. Given you have back pain get them to check baby's position too. Gl xx

So i went in and urine, bp and iron was all normal.
They went ahead and did the strep b swab. Then he tried to look in there and then swabbed with something different and put this solution on it and it came back positive for fluid. Did it again and it came back negative. Checked my cervix still 2cm dilated he said he could feel the babys head and my sack was hanging out a little. Made me cough and didn't see any fluid come out.
So he then did a u/s to measure the fluid around the baby and said it was good! So he said he didn't think i was slowly leaking and if i was the fluid is still good around the baby.
He was sorta rough and now i'm hurting really bad! I'm glad i'm not leaking but just so exhausted from everything!
But nothing has really changed, he was shocked i have already dilated and told me it could be anytime esp with the sack so low and baby's head engaged. Just going to relax, clear my mind, and wait now...

I'm pleased for you hun. Don't be surprised if those waters go with a loud pop. Mine was like a water balloon popping!

Thats what i have heard! Mine have never broke own its own before, drs did it both times before...
just a little confused as to why one was positive and one negative but i guess everything is ok.

I think it is possible to leak a smidge, rather than have a full on leak. Perhaps that's what happened to you?

Maybe... just makes no sense??? I've heard all kinds of people saying that it can cause infection within so many hours afterwards...

Im sitting in the hospital just now being induced. I had the same thing yesterday and was told probably hind waters and if I wasnt coming in anyway they would have been happy to leave me as hind waters often reseal and so the risk of infection is really really low. Xx. Hind waters often cause a slow trickle but not a gush and then stops which is when it reseals itself. Thats what I was told and read anyway. Xx

They never even said anything to me about that. Just told me about the tests and send me on my way.

My waters leaked over 24 hours before I went into labour. It was a nightmare for me! I had a slight wet feeling so popped to the loo and panicked I was about to have baby so off up the hospitals to be told it was just waters leaking and I'd be induced in 72 hours if I wasn't already in labour. Thankfully I was at MiL house so se was the one who changed the bed sheets about 10 times through the night cause I had soaked them through :-/. I went into labour the next day though at 37 weeks so thankfully I
No longer had to walk round feeling like I had peed myself :-)
