Has anyone ever had a lap & Dye? If so what happened? Did they give you the results when you woke up or did you have to go and see your GP?

I noticed no one replied and I just hate that.

I had my lap in December and as soon as they woke me up, the doc told me that they found endo. I passed out again!
He then took the pictures he had taken and spoke my husband through everything they had found and done. He then called me everyday for 3 days to check in on me. We had a follow up 2 weeks after where he talked us through everything.

Are you in the UK?

hey it was the same with me.. they gave me a cd and a complete report of what was wrong.. they also went through the cd with my husband and explained what all they had rectified during the lap

Just wanted to let you know about my experience. The doctor told my husband everything, but gave me just a quick, "You got through it really well." I asked my husband what she had found, but I guess she had told him not to upset me. Hearing that made me FREAK OUT!

He finally told me that my tubes were blocked but everything else was great. We have been trying for over 2 years, so it was actually a relief to know why we were having problems. I won't lie-- I still cried a little, but it was better for me to have a little piece of information because I was just so desperate to know!

Had a follow-up visit a few days later and the doc told me everything then-- all the little details that hubby either hadn't remembered.

Cazmania - Yes i'm in the UK.

I know my tube doesn't work, I had an ectopic last Feb and had 1 tube removed and my surgeon told me she didn't think it would work.

I'm fully prepared for the news but I was wondering what comes next??

Have you all been referred for IVF?

I lived in the UK for 10 years and I know that the healthcare system is totally different (as its privatised over here in the states) from here. Perhaps you could ask the doc to give you a brief run down when you wake up. My friend had a lap done 3 years ago and the doc who did the op didnt see her till the following day!

When are you having your lap?

I had stage 4 Endo and hardly had any symptoms. My doc cleared everything out, removed the chocolate cyst and did loads of work through the hysteroscopy (my uterus looked like a moon with craters and small plops). He is convinced that we will conceive naturally in the next 6 months.

I already had two failed IUIs, so if this natural cycle doesnt work, we will go back to IUIs just to maximise our chances.

P.S. Our kids are close in age. My son was born on the 18 July 09 (in Kingston hospital)

I haven't got an appointment for the lap yet. I'm off to see the specialists on 15 march so I should get a date then (hopefully).

My mam suffered with endo so it could be that that's ruined my tubes.

Fingers crossed you get your bfp soon :)

They gave me the results as soon as I woke up in recovery. They didn't find anything with me so my recovery was pretty uneventful. Just felt a little sore, like I'd done too many sit-ups, for a few days but after that, I was back to my normal self. The worst bit for me was waking up afterwards as I had really bad period-type pains but a couple of paracetamol sorted that. As they didn't find anything wrong, they put me on the IVF register then (although I think they actually put me on beforehand as they didn't say I HAD to have the lap & dye, it was just recommended before IVF) x
