Whose been?

Please tell me all about it, where did you stay, what did you do etc?

We are planning on going for our honeymoon but I don't even know where to start! Just trying to get as much info as I can and have a look at lots of things of people that have been :)

Have a word with Avalanche. She moved out there :)

Oooooo how exciting I could talk about Vegas ALL day:haha:

Will write what I can now, but looking after my 7 week old niece, but will add to it later.

I first went in 2007 (my mum actually won a trip there and took me with her!)

We stayed in the treasure island hotel, only problem was we were only there 4 days and it just didn't seem long enough.

Then me and oh went in 2007 (2 weeks in Vegas) to get married and it was brilliant. We stayed in treasure island.

Then me and dh went back in 2009 for a week and stayed in the stratosphere.

Bearing in mind it's been 3 years since I've been, as Vegas does change so quickly!

I'd say a big thing is definitely location. The strip is enormous! Although it is quite easy to get around using cabs and the Deuce (bus that is brill - really regular and cheap and goes up and down the strip and all the way to downtown), it really does pay off to have a central location.

The stratosphere is all the way at one end of the strip, when we stayed there it was fine, but was a bit out the way really.

Hotels like treasure island, the mirage, Wynn, caesars palace, belliagio are all really brilliantly located. Especially treasure island, there is the 'fashion show mall' is right next to it and had tons of shops, including bloomingdales and a massive food court.

Damn gotta go be back later :)

me and my OH are going in may to get married, we are staying at the Mirage hotel, i'm looking forward to it

I loved it so much the first time I went back to get married!!
I got hitched in the Bellagio, beautiful hotel that's really reasonably priced. I don't think it actually matters where you stay as your out so much and spend loads of time wandering around the other hotels but we've stayed in the MGM and Luxor before but I preferred my stay at the Bellagio so much more!
Get as much time as possible there, there's soooo much to do ! I thought it was just all about the gambling but I think we hardly did any at all. The shoppings just amaaaazing and nightlife is too. My friends went for 2 weeks after our wedding as they loved it that much but still haven't done everything they wanted!
Helicopter flights, the dam, canyon, sunbathing, shopping, theme park rides, hotels to walk around, theatres with loads of live shows ... I could go on!!

We went for a wedding in 2007. We stayed in New York New York which was ace. The wedding was in the Bellagio, which is beautiful.

You definitely need to book a trip to the Grand Canyon - it is awesome!

It's a great place for being able to do as much or as little as you like. You can sit by the pool or go off on excursions, explore all the hotels and the strip, see shows, etc, etc.

I love Vegas, been twice and would love to go back again. :)

As a PP already said, staying in the middle of the strip is a good idea. I stayed at Imperial Palace both times and it's absolutely ideal location. Not the nicest hotel by any means, but definitely sufficient and cheap!

Bill's Gambling Hall is THE place to get drinks - $1 margaritas!! And they're strong. :haha:

It's worth checking out the Old Strip even just for a few hours, The Stratosphere is fun and awesome views, rollercoaster at New York New York, lots of shopping.

I never went to any shows because they're so expensive, but there are a ton to choose from.

If you just do the drinking, shopping, gambling routine a few days is more than enough, but if you want to catch some shows or go to the Hoover Dam then you'll easily be able to spend more time there. :)

We went to Vegas for part of our honeymoon and it was fantastic! We stayed at the Venetian hotel which is absolutely gorgeous, would highly recommend it- it is huge and has a canal and gondolas running through it, very romantic!! We did a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon which came back over the strip at night so it was all lit up which I would def try to do if you can. We also had a lovely meal up the Eiffel Tower in the restaurant which overlooks the bellagio fountains. There is so much to do in Vegas you certainly won't get bored, I would love to go back xx

Thank you so much everyone this is a great help!

Can I ask who did you all book with, did you book a package holiday (flights and hotel) or did you sort it out yourself separately ?

Also for the ones that done things like Grand Canyon etc did you book before you went or did you sort it when you were there ?

How much roughly is it for a week including spends?

We got married and stayed at the Bellagio, it was amazing :)

Def stay on the strip in a good location, anything around the Bellagio down to the Wynn. Take lots if spending money, the shopping is great!

There is loads to do, we saw three shows too and they were all great. It's fab :)

Try to fly direct though if you can, some if the flights have connections and take ages.
