Hello Ladies,

I am TTC my first. Tempting and using OPKs since last two months.
Just find something strange in my cycles since TTC. My cycles were usually 35 days but since we started trying I notice them longer - 40 days, 48 days with OPKs giving Positives on CD27 and CD 34 respectively. Have any of you experiencd the same? Also charted the BBT and rise post Ovulation predicted date above coverline. Does this mean I ovulated for sure?

My Gyn suggested ovulation induction but we still want to try naturally for a couple of months. The only doubt is the long cycles.

Pls share if any of you have similar stories. This is driving me crazy !!

If you are getting positive opk's then you are ovulating ... Just late. :) Everyone's cycles are different. Good luck! I've heard that any cycle 44 or less is considered normal. Were you on BC before? Your body may still just be doing some adjusting.

Thanks Katiehansen12 !! I am keeping my fingers crossed, hoping I am ovulating, just late :)
No I wasnt ever on BC. And suddenly my cycles have gone longer , Strange. But thats our bodies I guess :)

Sounds like you're ovulating, just a little later than normal. Some people have longer cycles during the winter months because changes in light can cause changes in hormones in those who are sensitive. If you're seeing a clear thermal shift and positive OPK's, I'd give it a few more cycles before going the doctor route. It all gets so much less fun once doctors are involved. Good luck!

Lucky for not being on BC! I swear it royally screwed my cycles up!!

Ladies,

Once again I am here. Got my u/s on day18 and day22 but follicle size seems very small- just 8mm

My doc is of the view that they would no longer grow bigger since the grow is very small presently. She suggested to start ovulation induction from next month but its still hard to believe this for me since in past I have seen positive OPK and also thermal shift.

Has anyone of you experienced something similar?

This is absolutely incorrect. A positive OPK indicates that you have the hormonal surges necessary to ovulate but will not actually confirm ovulation. Temping is a much better indicator but ultrasound monitoring along with progesterone draws is absolute confirmation of ovulation.

If your positive OPK's are coming much later than "normal" than an ultrasound on either day 18 or wouldn't really be accurate enough and you'd need one around the time of your typically positive OPKS.

If you're not happy with the results you're getting I'd tell the Dr exactly what you want and/or change doctors. Ovulation inducers can help regulate a cycle to a more typical one, but there are downsides too as well. If you think you're ovulating there is no reason not to push for natural cycles longer with additional or different monitoring
