It feels like AF is coming a week before she actually does because I get these AF like cramps (I charted early cramping last month too). I am wondering if it's possible to ovulate on CD25? That seems really late for ovulation cramping and I'm not really noticing any fertile CM. I don't even have the slightest interest in BDing at the moment so I hope it's not O pains.

Any other ladies out there who have used OPKs and found that they ovulate super late in their cycle? This is so confusing. :hissy:

I just googled late ovulation and got this:

Member: When is ovulation considered too late? Is an 11-day luteal phase cause for concern?

Dr. Amos: Let's first talk about a "late" ovulation. Ovulation normally happens from CD 10 to CD 21. Ovulation that happens regularly after CD 21 is not considered normal. That does not mean you cannot get pregnant with late ovulation. Women get pregnant all the time even when they ovulate late. But your chances of getting pregnant are decreased significantly when you ovulate late. This is for several reasons:

  • The lining of the uterus is too old for implantation.
  • The egg is considered not as good as when ovulation happens earlier.
  • When ovulation happens late you ovulate less often over time, further decreasing your chances of conceiving.
The corpus luteum phase is the time between ovulation and the next menstrual period. If it's often less than 12 days then there may be a problem and your doctor should do some further testing.

Not so promising news if I am indeed ovulating this late...

Just wanted to let you know that one of my SILs has/had very long cycles...50 days on average...so she'd be O'ing late. She now has two wonderful kids, so don't give up hope! BFPs happen even with late O!

It seems unlikely that you'd ovulate this late but it does happen. It could also just be AF cramps early but that doesn't mean you'll have your AF early or it could be implantation at this stage. Try not to wory though. Some women can ovulate late one month and early another and some months not at all but still get pregnant.
