HI Ladies

I hope you know more than I do and would be able to offer some advice....

I just turned 32. My husband and I have been TTC for 19 months now. All seems to be fine with us except for a small endo cyst on one of my ovaries. I ovulate regularly, hormones OK, HSG OK, DH's swimmers are supersonic.

My period is usually spot on ( 28 day cycle) I'm 2 days late as of today and there's no sign of a second line on the internet cheapie ( tried 3 times) ... big, fat BFN. I'm pretty sure I ovulated on day 14 ( used OPK), had some spotting 6-8 dpo ( just when I wipe in the morning). Had my usual PMS- headache and little cramping on day 27 and that was it. No other symptoms.
Am I testing too early? Or is it the test? What else could it be?

Hope you can help...

P.S I might have UTI as the urine test I did last Friday detected protein and blood

Hey Brumbar, I'm afraid I can't offer you much advice except to say my cycles were 28 days regular as clockwork and once (in the whole 28 months of ttc!) I was 2-3 days late but like you BFN - :witch: turned up after that :(

Fingers crossed for you though as if you definitely ovulated on day 14 you should either have BFP or had AF arrive by now!

Not sure whether UTI may effect HPT's though...perhaps that's the reason BFN??

Good luck and :dust: xxxx

Hi Brumbar,

I would maybe test again but with a more sensitive test (maybe First Response or something similar). It may be that the test you're using isn't sensitive enough. Do you have any other BFP symtoms?

xxxxxx

Thanks Bexy.

Not knowing is sooo annoying ( but we all know this!!!!!) I guess I'll wait until Sunday and test again if AF is not here. And I'll use a branded test next time. My DH thinks it is the cheapies giving me false negatives... I hope he's right....:-)

Hi Smurfette

I bought these on the I-net. I think they are called "Unitest" and they claim to be 25mu! My DH thinks that they are dodgy but I didn't want to waste a FR test as early. I hope he's right and I got what you paid for :-)

No other symptoms..at least nothing worth mentioning... occasional twitches in the belly and the BB, loo visits seem to be more frequent ( but don't forget the possibility of UTI)...I'm just soo confused...

Hey hun,

UTI can give you a false positive not negative. Appartently tesco have their own brand HPT half price just now, so why not try one of them.

Good luck!

X

Thanks Mrs JD!!! I'll give it a go. I'll wait and use fmu, just in case...

Hi I know it sounds crazy but could his sperm be too supersonic? Only cos I read this book called Sperm Wars written by a biologist and in one case study a man had so much sperm they overwhelmed the egg with two or three sperms trying to fertilize it at the same time. I don't mean to add to your worries...but just a thought. There are ways round this if it is the case. x
