I've been using cloth bums for the last 2 days now (sposie overnight as hubby can't figure them out yet and I'm not convinced these are absorbant enough) They are earthwise ones which need a wrap. The few times she has pooed though it has come out of the side of the nappy and got onto the wrap - luckily the wrap contained the poo. Am I putting them on correctly? Or is it the fit of nappy not suitable for her? I'm a total newbie to this but am looking at making my own (ive got a greta pattern with millions of designs to chose) so would like to figure out which fit would be best.
She does tend to some big explosions which come out netween thigh and hip at the side...

The fit from the front looks fab but to me, they look like they don't fit at all from the sides. Imi's nappies fit snug all the way round her legs xx

how many times have they been washed honey as the fibres don't look like they've woke up yet.

the fit looks ok, i can see what you mean about the gap around the leg, and unfortunately it's common for bf poos to get everywhere. once the fibres have fluffed up they should provide some friction for the poo and stop it spreading so much. like you say the wrap stops the escapoo! you can try a fleece liner to help stop the spread so much.

I do think it's a bad fit around the thighs. It looks like the nappy shape might not suit your LO until the legs have seriously chunked up :baby:
This is what a good fit around the legs should look like

You could try Mother ease Sandys or Tots Bots Bamboozle stretchies as they give a really snug fit around the legs.

Good luck persevering

I agree, doesn't look like a good fit around the leg. Looks like it's cut too high for her if you get me? xx

I'll take a pic of Imi when she finally gets up

i had the original bamboozles fit in a similar way to the pics above, i did find the absorbency and fit improved as he grew.

what weight is your LO at the mo? I don't know too much about the earthwise nappies, are they sized or birth to potty?

his is how Imi's stretchies fit x

Thanks all! SOunds like a bad fit then. Wll I'll keep hold of them just now incase she fits them at a later stage. I've just bought another type off the cloth thread so will see how that fits when it arrives.
I don't know how many times they've been washed as they are 2nd hand. I will give them another wash with vineger etc and see if that helps. I don't mind using them round the house just now - just might stick with sposies if I'm going out just so I don't have to take loads of extra clothes! :haha:
