leg swelled?

my mum in law has vericous veins and the inner part of her leg is swelled and red,also hot to the touch and shes having real bad pain with it? anyone know what it could be?

It sounds like it could be a blood clot or cellulitis. She should see a doctor. I hope she feels better soon!
