Hi there! I'm new here! I'm wondering if anyone out there with PCOS has had any luck with the Soy Isoflavones and Evening Prime Rose. My wife and I are doing an at home insemination with a known donor. We did a two rounds last month, May 15th and May 18th. I do not ovulate on my own and my cycles are so irregular. We kind of just guessed when I was O'ing with my CM. Anyways, I did not get my BFP this time, I did however, end up having a BFP on June 2nd. I had been feeling a little off, heartburn, bloating, gas ect. so that sunday am i decided to take a HPT with my FMU, Right away i got a BFP. I called my dr. Monday am and told her, so she told me to come and have a blood test done, blood test came back negative but she said she wanted me to come in for an ultra sound today to make sure everything was ok and to see how my ovarian cysts were doing. She ended up calling me this afternoon and told me that all my cysts are gone and my ovaries looked great and that we should keep trying and start tracking my temp every morning. I should also mention that I have sleep apnea so i have to sleep with a mask on every night, Im wondering if the mask can effect your basil temp? Since about Xmas I have been having somewhat normal cycles, about every other mouth. It usually comes the last week of the month and goes into the first week of the month. I did not have a period in May, and usually I have to take Provera for 10 days to induce AF. I would really like to start on Clomid sooner then later. my hopes are to get pregnant by the end of year so by the end of 2014 I can have my gastric bypass. Has anyone had any luck with Soy? Sorry if I seem to be babbling on.

Hello and welcome!
I haven't had any experience with pcos but there are lots of women how have had some success with that.
As for the bbt and mask, that would play a huge factor. Don't bother temping orally, do it vaginally. Will give you a more accurate temp every time. Just remember that vaginally will be higher than you would normally see so don't worry about it.

Good luck!

I guess I never thought of doing it that way, Can you use just a normal basil thermometer to do it vaginally?

You sure can.
Lots of us mouth breathers have a hard time pinpointing O as the temps fluctuate to much. I guess you could use the under arm as well but where is the fun in that?

Hiya:flower:

I have pcos and conceived with soy isoflavones, 160-200 mg from day 5-9, sadly missed misscarriage though, so I try again next cycle with soy. It's great news though that your cysts appeared to have gone now, so maybe you won't need any extra help. I do the cheap ovulation predictor tests that you can get online to predict ovulation and as soon as you get a positive give your sperm donor a ring :happydance:

One tip though, I usually ovulate on day 20 of my cycle but with soy I ovulated on day 13 so I always start opk's on day 9-10.

Good luck to you dear for a little :crib:

We are very excited and relieved that the cysts are gone! I actually started my Provera this past Thurs so I could jump start AF. I plan on taking the Soy on CD's 2-6, does anyone know when I should start doing my ovulation tests? I've read a few diff. things online, some sites say to test as soon as AF is done, and others say to test a week after AF is done, I'm so confused. Thank goodness we have a wonderful donor who knows about my PCOS and is more then willing to work with us for however long it takes us to get our BFP!

I would suggest taking opts from end of af if its your first try with them as you won't know when you will o then the next month you can take them later if you need to. X

Hello !!! Im so happy to see another lesbian couple ttc!!

I would say start you opks no later than cd8 until you've been tracking them for a while. I usually start on cd10, but I've been tracking cycles for a little while now.
I also have low progesterone. My doc said either I didn't O or had a weak O. My temps shift, my cervix opens, I get positive opks, and get EWCM that goes away after O...so everything points to O. I'm guessing a weak O. Doc told me she would do clomid whenever I wanted. So, I've been eating healthy and taking supplements (maca root, spirulina, royal jelly, fertilitea) to help my body naturally first. Should be doing prog test again in about a week, so we'll see if it helped. If no BFP this month we are starting clomid next cycle. We are getting impatient lol This is our 5th month ttc.

Good luck!

Tomo evening is the last dose of my provera, I'm starting to get antsy, can't wait to try the soy! I think I'm going to take it CD 3-7, I've been doing a lot of research and reading and see a lot of women have had good luck doing it on those cycle days.
