Level one immune tests - Help, I'm confused!

Hi Ladies

I'm hoping for some advice. Over the past 6 months I've had 3 failed ICSI's. For my last attempt I was prescribed clexane, pred and baby aspririn but still didn't get pregnant. I've now reached the point where I just want to know if it's bad luck so far or if there is something wrong. So I think it's time to have some tests.

The thing is I don't know what tests to have. People talk about level one tests but I don't know what they actually are. Does anyone know? I want to see if I can ask my GP to do as many as she can and then I'm planning to see Dr Gorgy for the rest.

I'm also wondering about changing my clinic (my 3 attempts have been with the same one - LWC) but my gut says get the tests done first then go from there.

Is anyone able to give me any advice? With 3 failed attempts I'm getting scared about next steps so any words of wisdom would be very gratefully recieved!

My DH and I are down regging for our fourth IVF attempt and I have been thinking about exploring immunology issues too. There is a thread on here describing the Level 1 tests, I will see if I can find it again. I believe, depending on how sympathetic your doctor is, you can get some done on the NHS but some need paid for.

My friend went to the ARGC in London for her fifth attempt because she needed the IVIg stuff (amongst other meds) but she warns to think long and hard before going down that route because it is sooooo intense and very expensive!!!!

Do you have another clinic nearby that might be able to offer you a fresh perspective? Our consultant says she would (probability wise) give it five tries...

Hey Springflower..pls discuss beta 3 integrin testing with ur doc as that is one of the reasons for multiple failed IVFs and is more common in women with endo. The treatment for missing beta 3 inetgrin is 3 months of lupron. I have one failed IVF and the doc refused to do any more IVFs without the treatment. She did not even test me for beta 3 but said its likely I have it missing. Lupron treatment is also done in women with multiple IVF failures to reset the lining. You can google this. Its still not used very widely but might be worth a try.
