My story short... I may have PCOS... some doctor says I may have it, other says that I don't seem to have PCOS (I don't have lot of body hair, not obese, etc.), but the truth is that my periods are not regular, and I don't seem to ovulate on my own.

2 years ago, a gyn prescribed Clomid 50mg for me. I took it and got pregnant immediately, although it later ended in miscarriage.

I started my fertility treatment on Clomid 50mg again, for 2 cycles, then on Clomid 100mg for another 2 cycles, and then finally got pregnant again with Clomid 150mg.... Pregnancy ended again in D&C due to a Partial Molar Pregnancy.

Now, my doctor made me wait for a year before TTC again. I heard that many doctor would say OK after 6 months, for PMP. So after trying some month in my own, I took Clomid 50mg again, without medical supervision for 2 cycles. I later felt bad for doing this, and stopped.

When I completed my 1 year wait for my PMP, my doctor gave me an appointment for fertility in 3 months. I was quite unhappy that they were making me wait 3 months, when I had already waited 1 year, so I set an appointment with another doctor.

After a chat with this doctor, he prescribed me Clomid 100mg for 2 cycles. He said that if I don't get pregnant, that I should go to a real fertility specialist that would really treat me. He said that I am almost don't have quota left for Clomid (and he didn't know when I took 2 month without supervision).

I am so sad now.. cause my husband doesn't want to go for IVF or anything drastic. My husband is worried about me, and sometime he just says that don't want to have baby, cause he is afraid that I would have another miscarriage, or have any health problem. I haven't told him that I may have a higher chance of getting cancer because of the Clomid, cause for sure he would be worried and would not let me to continue (his mother and oldest sister died of cancer, although cancer does not run in my family).

Anyone had a similar experience? what is next after Clomid?

Sorry that my story ended longer than expected

I am waiting to start clomid i think come October time huni, never had BFP ever, got mild pcos and only found out not long ago xx

I've done about 9 cycles so far I think, 4 at 50, 3 at 100 and 2 at 150. This was about 4 years ago, and I've now been given another 6 at 50.

the next step is injctibles and iui normally.

I have heard that 6 months is the most they want you to, but I'm not sure how true that is. I know my Dr discussed that option with us, for our IUIs to give an extra option for the swimmers, or three or four.
But from what I understand, it can damage your ovaries from overstimulation.

The norm is six months, but some Drs. will prescribe it longer. Hope it works and gives you a sticky bean! xx

I wonder if it correlates with how well you respond, I had poor response progesterone wise each time, so that could be it.

Katherine,
My husband sounds just like yours he doesnt want to go IVF or even possible IUI route he has been through so much with my 2 tubals and 2 MC that I know he is worried something will happen to me. It breaks his heart to see me in so much pain that he has a wall built up the last time (in April) I told him I was pg he wasnt excited he just said we will see what happens. I am not ready to give up yet. I did my Clomid for a year without success and the found out I have mild PCOS so now I take metformin/glucophage and my dr is talking about putting me on femara like clomid supposed to be good for people that clomid didnt work for and then after that possible injections. I am gonna try for a few month with just the glucophage and preseed and baby asprin because I have read that clomid can thin your uterus lining. Good luck to you hunny if you need to take about hubby's I am here. I think next time I will wait to tell mine until I have the sonogram just so he doesnt worry.
