Light brown spotting, bfn, no AF...when do I count cycle day 1???

So I started spotting 3 days ago, very light, very brownish/old... (About when AF is due)...been waiting for it to get heavier or redder but it seems to have stopped! If it has stopped, should I keep counting for my previous cycle (I think today would be day 33), or should I just consider it a light AF and start counting a new cycle from the spotting (although you're generally supposed to ignore spotting). I'm very confused, and dont currently have access to medical care so I can't ask a Dr.

If it has warranted a pad or some form of protection then its possibly a light period especially if tests are negative x if not then mark as spotting and keep counting maybe? x

Yeah it didn't even require a pantiliner. Was kinda hoping it's implantation but who knows. Hmmm. I guess all I can do is wait. Poo. Thanks for responding!
