Welcome to the birth of Lilia, she was born on Sunday Nov.30.2014 @ 7:30am weighing in at 7lbs 4oz & was 21 1/2in long. I was in labor for a long 24hrs so now here is our birth story:thumbup:

Saturday Nov.29.2014; 5:00am- I woke up to use the bathroom and started feeling some strong contractions, they weren't painful yet but they were really uncomfortable so I decided to get on my exercise ball and start timing them. At first(5am) my contractions were coming every 6-7 minutes but by the time it was 5:30am they started coming every 3-5 minutes so I called the birth center and of course they told me to come in. After I called the birth center my husband called his mom and she came to watch Zoai while we went to the hospital. At around 6:30am my contractions were still coming every 3-5 minutes and now were super painful. We arrive to the hospital/birthing center at 7am and they get me checked in and hooked up to the monitor. After I was all hooked up they checked my cervix and said I was 4cm, 80% effaced but she was still -2 station. After awhile of monitoring me they decided to take some blood because my bp was a little high. 30 mins later they came back and told me that I have low platelets but no protein in my urine so they are keeping an eye on it and admitting me.

10am- We got our room and I was able to start following my birth plan.

11am- My mother in law came to the hospital and they drew some more blood, my contractions had died down alot by this point.

12pm- My nurse informs me that my platelets are very low and that they will try to follow birth plan as much as they can but they don't feel comfortable letting me birth out of bed and because my contractions stopped for the most part, I would need to start pitocin but the on-call doctor wasn't at the hospital so we had to wait until he came back. 30 mins later she comes back to my room and tells me that because of my platelets I won't be able to get an epidural even if I changed my mind later after we start the pitocin.

1pm- I was trying to think of any possible way to get my contractions stronger before pitocin so I asked my nurse about the doctor breaking my water, she said she would ask him and get back to me with his answer. About an hour later she comes back and says he agreed to break my water before trying to induce with pitocin.

After that we waited and waited..and waited..for the doctor:coffee::sleep:

9pm- The on-call doctor finally comes to my room and tells me that they are going to start pitocin, I asked him about breaking my water and he said he didn't want to chance me getting an infection.

10pm- My nurse comes and sets my iv up with the pitocin.

10:30pm- The charge nurse comes in and gives my nurse the okay to start the pitocin. She starts it.

After she started the pitocin I started having some contractions again but I could only tell because they were on the monitor, I couldn't feel them at all. I decided to get some sleep since they weren't painful, I always sleep on my side so the nurse was coming back frequently to keep Lilia on the monitor.

Sunday Nov.30.2014; 12am- I woke up to a pretty bad headache so my nurse brought me tylenol. I found out that after I went to sleep my contractions died down so she said she would be upping it every 30 mins. She also checked my cervix and said I was still a 4. I felt a little discouraged but went back to sleep on my side.

2am- Nurse had to put Lilia back onto the monitor because she wouldn't stay on it.

3am- I had been feeling the contractions for awhile so I asked her to check my cervix, I was still a 4:wacko: after she left I felt really discouraged and started crying. After that I tried to get some more rest.

4am- I woke up when my nurse came in, she said that it seemed like when I would relax my contractions would die down but when I was awake and on my back they would pick up again, so I decided to lay on my back.

5am- I start to feel strong contractions they checked me and said I was a 5-6:thumbup:

5:30am-I decided to get a dose of fetnol to take the edge off the contractions.

6:55am- Still having strong consistent contractions. My nurse comes in and checks my cervix again, 6cm!:happydance::bunny: I get extremely happy.

7am- My water starts leaking and I start transition, by now the fetnol had worn off and contractions were very very painful.

7:25am- I had to get on my hands and knees because it was too painful for me to lay on my back, I was trying to be strong and breath through the contractions and sway my hips but the pain was unbearable, I was moaning pretty loudly. Nurse called the doctor.

7:30am- I felt the urge to push but the doctor wasn't there yet, I asked the nurse "um do I have to wait for the doctor because I need to push" she said it would be nice if I did wait for him but I told her I couldn't, that Lilia was coming. My water broke the rest of the way and then it was chaos lol.

7:31am- I started pushing as the nurse went to check my cervix but before she could check, Lilia's head popped into her hand. She pushed the call button and frantically called for everyone to come help her, next thing I know a different on-call doctor and a ton of nurses are rushing around in my room.

7:32am- I pushed for the 2nd time and Lilia was born:cloud9: she started crying right away.
My husband cut her cord and they took her to the warmer while they cleaned me up.

After what felt like forever, they finally brought her to me and put her skin to skin. Right when they put her on my chest she started rooting and looking for my nipple(Zoai never did that so it was exciting). She nursed for 45 mins:) she passed her apgars with all 9's and has no jaundice. We went home on Dec.01.2014:thumbup:
She had her first check up on Dec.03.2014 and passed it with flying colors, she goes back in 3 weeks for her 1 month wellness check:thumbup: she is an amazing baby, only cries when she wants to nurse although I think she has her days and nights mixed up because the first 2 nights she was up wanting to cluster feed all night which kept me up all night lol, she is 5 days old now and last night she only woke up 3 times which was fantastic for both of us:winkwink:

Thanks for reading, if you would like to get updates on her and continue to follow our journey please feel free to follow my parenting journal click this for journal:thumbup:
