Hello, i've got a brand new kettle bought especially for making my baby's 1 x per day formula dream-feed, and already, 2 days in, it has limescale in it! Grrrr!

Has anyone got any tips on how to avoid this, or do you do it a different way and can give me some advice?! many thanks!

limescale is harmless, its just calcium deposits so don't worry. If you're really concerned you could get a filter kettle, like the one made by brita. It would also be ok to use normal filtered water as long as you properly boil it before use because the filter jugs can harbour bacteria xx

Yep i agree harmless ! :) i worried about this too but its fine :) xx

I was going to say the same as the ladies above.
It's the Calcium in the water that is making it harder.
THe minerals in hard water are better for your body (heart).
Statistically people in hard water areas live longer than those in soft waters
Hard water good for you, bad for your kettle/washing machine.

i dont bother when it gets really bad I descale the kettle with descaler than boil an chick thee water about 15 times to ensure it has all gone!

It's really good to hear limescale is harmless as I live in a really hard water area! This is why I like baby and bump so much - really good advice and facts!
