I used to absolutely love them until I had some when I was pregnant and they just tasted greasy and horrible and I've not eaten them since! My tastebuds went haywire during pregnancy lol. I can't even look at a Linda McCartney sausage without heaving now
But I'd recommend you try them because they used to be my favourites!
I haven't tried them but her sausage rolls are to die for! I am not vegetarian myself but these are the only sausage rolls me and the kids eat these days!
I tried the standard vegetarian ones and also tried a Tesco Lincolnshire Style one. ALthough both were nice I prefered the Tesco one. But I suppose that's the same as Lincolnshire and Cumberland sausages. Except I don't like meaty Lincolnshire sausages. Weird. Anyway, I heard that her Red Onion and Rosemary ones are delicious so I shall be trying them next. I shall also give Quorn ones ago as there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews about them.
I don't like the quorn ones either but the cauldron brand ones you get in the chiller cabinet of supermarkets those are really nice. They are soya based I think xx
I usually do my shopping at Asda (Tesco for 'bits and bobs as it's closer) and I've never seen anything from the Cauldron range. Except Witches ones when I typed it in the Asda search bar. Lol. Our local Sainsburys doesn't stock them and don't really fancy paying delivery charges to get them online. Seems pointless for one packet of sausages. Shame.
Mmm I love the red onion and rosemary ones with mash and red wine and balsamic gravy. I also prefer the quorn over the normal Linda McCartney but cauldron Lincolnshire sausages are definitely the best if you can get them. They sell them at sainsburys, morrisons, tesco and asda here.
That's a shame they sell the cauldron ones everywhere here, and they're currently 3 for 2 in Sainsbury . If you do get hold of them they are the only vegetarian sausages I have found that keep together well in casseroles and stews, a cauldron sausage stew with dumplings is quite amazing xx
There are so many things you can't get in Northern Ireland. Don't even have a Morrisons. Well, they do but it's bar. Not quite what I'm after. Shame. Times like this that I miss being in England.
