I think it's cute how all the UK folks on BnB say 'touch wood' and that their babies have got 'wind.'

In the US we say 'knock on wood' and 'gas' (or 'fart')

Hehe :)

we say fart in the UK too :haha:

Fag is one that amuses me endlessly, I recall mentioning that I could "murder a fag" when pregnant, the replies of horror before they realised I meant "cigarette" tickled me :p

There's the chips/fries/crisps thing too, to me chips are like, chunky potato type things, these:

Fries are skinny chips, like you get at Mcdonalds, and crisps are...

I used to spend a few weeks a year in Coventry visiting my Grandma and what bugged me as a kid was biscuits! She called cookies 'biscuits' and the word 'cookie' was never even used! Biscuits are these things in America:

That's a picture of a scone ... that's soooo not a biscuit lol ;)

We say "knock on wood" in UK, it originated as knock but now some people say "touch"

But aren't scones sweet, usually? Biscuits are fluffy/flaky, and salty...Yummmmm.

no biscuits here are not salty or flaky lol!

we dip biscuits in tea & coffee!

in an American b&b for breakfast i was given a 'pastry' that was actually sponge cake and a 'scone' that like a biscuit/rusk lol

I like 'trash receptacle' instead of bin - sounds so futuristic

Whilst on the subject of breakfast can someone please explain to me why bacon is sooo burnt in America and also why it is served with pancake/waffles with syrup and fruit?

And why chips(homefries are serves for breakfast) i think i've only ever eaten chips for breakfast if it was cold take away the next day!

On a plane i was given sausages with blackberry sauce and nearly vomited. the sweet with fried is strange.

I think we should have an xmas recipe swap - american's do have really nice looking food in the xmas movies lol
