Sorry for not posting earlier, but this is pretty much the first chance I have gotten since my gorgeous little boy was born.
He was born 4 weeks early on 2 January 2012 at 12:30pm. I went into labour for a second time in the morning, and at first thought it was just a bladder infection, but on our way to the pharmacy we started timing the pains, and turns out I was in full labour. By the time we arrived at the hospital I was already 7cm dilated. I was taken in for an emergency c-section and my little boy was delivered. Due to him having been breach for most of my pregnancy as soon as he was delivered and put on the table, his legs shot straight up to head. It was so cute. He was surprisingly big for a 34 week baby. He weighed 2.84kg and was 56cm. He was breathing fine, thank goodness, as they had given me steroids 3 weeks earlier when he threated to come. He was taken to NICU, and the only thing I regret about my entire experience was that I could only go see him the following day, 26 hours after I had given birth to him, as they would not allow me to stand up after the c-section. Thank goodness I had a wonderful fiance who would ever half hour go take some pics and bring them to show me.
He spent a week in ICU, which was very taxing on us emotionally and physically. I was released after 3 days, and had to come home with an empty tummy and no baby in the crib, but we survived and when he did come home, it was amazing. He is such a little champ. He has done so well and is now already weighing an amazing 3.24kg.
I have put on some pics below.
Thank you to all you ladies for your wonderful support through my pregnancy. I hope you all, all of the best for the future with your pregnancies, births and children.
