My little man is finally here! This is my birth story:

MONDAY 19th: I went in for my induction due to GD on Monday night at 38+3 at 8 pm. I had gel inserted I was about 2 cm dialated already with a medium cervix. If nothing was to happen that night they were going to take me to birthing suite the next day to break my waters and start the drip. The only eventful thing that happened was the toilet in our room broke and dh had to do a macguiver with a tongue depressor and a rubber band!

TUESDAY 20th: I was taken to the birthing suite at 7.15 am and they checked me and I had made no progress! They were able to boreal my waters however which came out with a massive gush! After half an hour they hooked up the picoten drip and advised me it would be turned up every half an hour to mimick a natural labour. My birth plan had ALWAYS been to have an epidural. I suffer from anxiety and the thought of not getting it would give me severe panic attacks! Well every doctor and midwife kept 'warning' me that second labours progressed very quickly and I may not get the epi which would send me into panic mode!

So 20 minutes after drip was put in I was getting at least 5 contractions every ten minutes and intense pressure in my bum! I demanded the epidural and the anethesioligist showed up not to long after. As she was explaining the epi to me I said to dh 'I need to push' and he just whispered 'shut up or you won't get it'! So I kept it to myself! But I knew I was nearly fully diAlated! The epi was administered and boy did it work! I had completely dead legs! So 10 minutes after I lost feeling they checked and I was ready to push. The doctor told me there was no way I could push with dead legs so I would have to wait an hour and hope the baby didn't get distressed!

Well I disagreed and told them to lift my legs and put them in the stirrups for me, I knew I could still push him out! I watched the monitor for contractions, and with each one pushed with everything! He was out in about 5 contractions!

7.4 pounds and absolutely adorable I love him so much!

Sorry for the story being so long!
