longer cycles since ttc

Hello I'm new but have been actively ttc for 3 months. I have been logging my periods over the last 9 months and they have varied in length from a 28days to 49 day cycle. The last three have been longer from 36-49. I keep thinking I might have been pregnant in the last three months but have had late periods which means I keep wasting my money on tests. I don't have a thyroid problem and have not used birth control for over 5 years. My first pregnancy was a surprise and it was due to illness that my birth control did not work. My partner has chrons and epilepsy so I am wondering if his meds are interfering with his sperm. I am on cd1 now. Could I ask for tests sperm analysis and to see if I indeed do ovulate? Or am I too early in the game for this? Any advice welcome. Good luck to everyone ttc. X
