He caught me on eBay looking for a cheap Xmas party dress (being a skint sahm) and told me "you pay for quality" and gave me his bank card and I was told to get something nice! I feel like a 1950s housewife and I like it

However I'm curious, do you guys all keep your money separately? Myself and the OH have one bank account for us both, and absolutely all of my money is his and vice versa - if either of us wants anything (me shoes, him hi-fi equipment or cars!) we just go and buy it.

Well I have no money, it's all ours but we each have a set amount for our own "stuff" each month. I keep a separate account as I like to be able to keep track. It just happens I've nothing in my budget for a dress, but OH does!
I do have access to all his bank accounts etc, I often just take his card for buying kids stuff etc. we have a mortgage together and 2 kids so I'm not fussed about not having a joint bank account too if that makes sense

We do the same and have for years. Everyone thinks we are odd so i think its the norm these days to have separate accounts?
