Hi,

I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who like me only gets AF 1-2 times a year. I have PCOS and have been ttc since Jan 2006.

It would be nice to team up with someone who is in the same situation so we can work on getting our AF's regular, sharing ideas etc.

Hello!

I have pcos too and only had 1 natural af this year :-(
My FS gave me Norethisterone to give me af and I also take clomid to make me Ov.
Have you seen a FS? Have they discussed any meds with you?

Hi,

I saw a FS 4.5 years ago, tried 7 cycles of Clomid - only made me ovulate on 1st cycle, BFN, then Metformin - no effect, then ovarian drilling - no effect, that was all the NHS could do for us. Then we did two private IUI's in 2008, i ovulated but BFN's.

I have PCOS and as look would have it have only had one cycle this year whcih was 2 weeks before my Lap & Dye so could nothing about it :o(

I have my next app with my FS on the 17th and have been told that i will likelt be prescribed fertility drugs.

Aw im sorry thats rubbish :-(
What are you on at the mo? Or are you trying au naturel?
I found the nhs useless and ended up going private. Still on Clomid but only 3 more rounds until we try IUI which starts to get expensive :'-(
Also ALL my close friends are pregnant and its really painful for me.

Whats your next step? xx

That was ment to be a sad face but came out happy. I am definately not happy i have only had one cycle and could do nothing about it :(

I have found the NHS to be really good and supportive so far. I suppose it depends on your area (ours is supposed to be a good Assisted Conception unit).

The only problem i have had is them being very harsh where weight loss is concerned but its for my own good so let that slide

I feel your pain about everyone being pregnant at the mo. I know 17 people who are pregnant at the mo. I'm ususally ok with others being pregnant but the latest has had 2 abortions in 3 years and is pregnant with the 3rd and deciding to keep this one. Sometimes the world does not make sense!!

Your're so right... the world doesnt make sense at all.
I am the only one of my friends who has done everything in the right order - ive been with my hubby 11 years and am more in love than ever, I have a lovely big house (with 2 empty rooms waiting to be filled with kids!), good jobs etc etc... but no baby.
I know its not necessary to have these things first and im not saying that people shouldnt have children if they're not married etc by any means! But my friends have been with their partners for months and theyre already blessed with children.
Why cant it be out turn :'-(

xx

Lisa - I guess you will be getting Clomid hun. Its just not fair, people like that getting pregnant and he we are struggling. :(

sazaroo - I'm trying to lose weight, which is proving a losing battle :(. But because i haven't had a cycle in so long we haven't been able to try anything new. But i got my first AF of the year on Tuesday last week so we tried Soy for the first time. Apart from the alternative route, which we have already tried numerous treatments from, our next step will be IVF :(, unless we want to try IUI again, but in our opinion, because the success rates are so low, its a waste of money, better saved for IVF, only wish we'd known this after paying out for two. The NHS are rubbish here too, i have has so much trouble with them, caused alot of distress for us. It hurts so bad when everyone seems to be getting pregnant but you, doesn't it.

I hope i get that but hey who knows. I'm optimistic but don't want to get my hopes up too much incase it doesn't work.

I'm also trying to lose weight. I find swimming helps me loads!! I'm eating loads of homemade soups, fruit and veg and drinking loads of water which again i think is helping. I think losing just a little bit was what helped me have an AF last month x

Lisa - Keep going with the healthy eating and swimming!. Hopefully whatever pills you get will work for you.
