right now I’m looking a little hope well a lot of hope. I miscarried at 16 weeks 3 days .initially I thought it was due to incompetent cervix; now that I’m pregnant again my doctor reviewed my records and stated it was more than likely an infection. I just want to hear very positive stories of women who experienced second trimester loss and went on to have a healthy baby next pregnancy. right now I would like some encouragement. If you or anyone you know can share some good news please do. Each day of this current pregnancy is a panic fest and I just want somebody to provide me with a little hope!!

I lost a baby at just under 20 weeks due to infection. My next pregnancy after that went fine, although I got gestational diabetes and he was born 4 weeks early. But he's 4 now. It's normal to worry after you've had a loss, especially if it's a late loss since most people assume if you get to 12 weeks all will be fine, so it's a shock and heartbreaking to lose a baby later. But it doesn't happen that often fortunately. Just take care of yourself and stick to the guidelines of what not to eat etc. I can't say you won't worry - I worried all through my pregnancy - but as the weeks go on things will get easier

Are they still checking your cervical length?

Are you still getting cervical length checks or progesterone? I lost twins at 21 weeks last year and they can't say why for sure. Could be incompetent cervix, could have just been a "twin thing" I am currently almost 18 weeks with a singleton. I started weekly progesterone shots at 16 weeks and I also get weekly cervical length checks so that I can get a cerclage if my cervix starts to shorten. They initially wanted to just check me every 2 weeks and I refused to wait that long between. I say if you are not comfortable with your current treatment plan you talk to you Doctor, it is unlikely that they will refuse you. The anxiety in pregnancy after a loss is very real, take it week by week and just do what you can to keep your brain busy.
