My SIL has been ttc for at least a year now and she is just looking for some information on clomid and possibly any other methods medically that are out there with good known results. Side effects? Average length of time to conceive? How it's used and when it is usually turned to? Any help or advice would be great. I have no idea and I don't want to give her any false information etc... as it's not something to take lightly. Thanks in advance ladies :)

I just finished my first round of clomid. My DH and I have been ttc for 15 months now. We found out about 3 mos ago that he has low #'s (count, morphology, motility) and he too started taking clomid almost 2 mos ago. As far as side effects go, most women have mild side effects-headache, hot flashes, nausea, moodiness. I myself have only experienced hot flashes and moodiness. It is relatively safe and 1 out of 10 women will have multiples if it is successful. Hope that helps! :flower:

Thanks :) How easy is it to get put on?

I want to wish you lots of luck and sending some :dust::dust::dust::dust:

I hope you get your :bfp: soon hun! :)

Well, where I live, it depends on the dr and why you want it. My dr told me we needed to give it 12 months of "trying" before she would put me on it. However, if my DH would have been tested much earlier than a year, we probably could have started it way before now.

so your husband takes it too? what does it do for a man, I've never heard of that actually....

good luck, I picked up my prescription but I'm a little nervous to take it :(

I see. She hasn't had any testing yet, but been trying for over a year now with no luck, but got pregnant with her son before they were even fully trying so she is worried a little and I don't blame her.

HI Rdy2BaMom, i hope you don't mind me asking but did u fall pregnant after using clomid. I noticed you said your dh has low #'s (count, etc) as does mine. My specialist wants me to take clomid to increase our chances (even tho i am ovulating on my own) i'm so sceptical and scared to take it however will have to give it a go if i'm not pregnant this month... keen to hear your story...thanks

I am hoping and praying that it worked, but I won't know for another week. I too ovulate fine on my own, but I gave it go. I wanted as many eggs available to those sperm as possible.

It hasn't been "proven" but medical tests have shown that it can increase sperm count in men. My DH had low #'s, so we figured we would give it a try. :winkwink:

i got pregnant with clomid ...we ttc for over 18 months ..i had a polyp remove in January 2009 went into clomid in February (50 mg) and i was pregnant in March my second cycle in it...:)
We are ttc again for number 2 ...we are giving a go by ourself (as it said once you body got pregnant once it knows how to...) but if in about 6 month or so we cant i will take clomid again:)
