Hi Ladies...

I'm feeling really frustrated and sad...

DH & I have been TTC for a 1yr 6 months. I'm 28 and DH is 30. We waited a year to see a Dr who sent us to a fertility specialist. DH is healthy, my gyno "thinks" I have PCOS. No cysts on my ovaries but I have erratic and long cycles. He told me the only cure to having normal cycles was birth control pills. Not gonna happen, we want to get pregnant! Not just that but I blame birth control for messing up my cycles as I was always regular before I started taking them. Now that I stopped I haven't had a single period on my own. NEVER going on the pill EVER again.

Our fertility specialist wants us to try 3 rounds of clomid at the same dose, 50mg. I'm on my 2nd round of clomid (50mg, same as the first round). First round I O'd clear as day on CD17 which ended in BFN. I was still happy though and relieved that clomid worked. 2nd round - It's CD 21 and I'm still waiting for O but there are no signs of O what-so-ever. No positive OPKs, No BBT rise. I'm beyond frustrated. Anyone ever have this happen - where the first round worked and the 2nd was MIA?

Hoping some of you could share your positive stories with me.

well, I went through three rounds of clomid 100mg, 150mg twice and didn't respond to any of them. I waited three more years and I decided to try again (currently on my first round 200mg) and so far I have responded and on the TWW. Sometimes it happens where you will not O every cycle with Clomid, and it could also be that you are going to O late. What days did you take it? I took mine CD 5-9 and I didn't O until CD 18. I also have PCOS, and I take Metformin also, you should talk to your RE about adding Metformin for your PCOS because that is the treatment used to help regulate your cycles without preventing pregnancy instead of using BC pills.

I would call your RE and see if he or she can get you in for an ultrasound to see if you have any mature follicles, if so, they can induce O by giving you a shot of HCG. OR maybe you already O'd but didn't realize it? Hmm, I wish I had a better answer for you hun, try calling your doctor and see what they want to do. They may want to do a blood test to see if you O'd.

I am on my 3rd round of Clomid. I O on my own, but my doctor wanted me to super ovulate. The first month, I didn't O until day 21, this month was day 17. So I wouldn't completely count yourself out yet. One time I didn't O until day 23. Also, some months I have symptoms, and some months I have none.

Thanks. I talked to the FS nurse today and she sent me to get a CD21 progesterone bloodwork test done. If it's low that means I didn't ovulate and they will call me in to increase my dose of clomid or try something else. If I don't hear back that means my levels are normal... and if no AF by CD 31 they want me to come in again for more tests.

forgot to note, the FS also said it's normal to have the first round work and the second one not work. She said my body might be getting used to clomid and rejecting it this time around. bleh!

Ask about femara next cycle.
It has proven to be effective when women fail to O with clomid.:flower:

Hopeful- did your dr. ever mention putting you on metformin? I do clomid days 3-7, but I take 2000mg of metformin EVERY day. It has really helped regulate me. It made my cycle shorter and heavier. I was having long cycle with a spotting like period. I would mention the metformin. There really aren't any actual drugs to treat PCOS, but metformin can work wonders on it.
