I'm 33weeks along, and have decided that i'd like to try breastfeeding, however I have some concerns regarding weight loss.
I'm under consultant care for being underweight with a very low bmi, and have only put on 10lbs since my booking appointment, which they are still concerned about even though baby is growing completely fine.
What i'm worried about is possibly having to stop breastfeeding after a short amount of time, as i'll be too underweight to continue. This happened to my mother, and she was only allowed to feed for 5 weeks before being told by her doctor it was too dangerous for her health to continue- and she had a lot more weight to loose post-pregnancy (she had put on 2.5 stone at my stage).
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of this, and what they would suggest to try and prevent it from happening? I'd be heartbroken if I couldn't bf because it took me such a long time to have the confidence to try it!
