lost my mucus plug???

i am 26 weeks and i just went to the bathroom and wiped and it was a thick slimey string of mucus i guess that was part of my mucus plug and this has happened before and they said it was okay and just to take it easy and the only difference this time is now i have a dull backache too & i dont know if that has anything to do with it but im worried and i feel like i call my doctors too much for worrying about little things. is this normal?

At and past 26 weeks youre supposed to have increased vaginal discharge, and i know ive experienced similar lately (im 28 weeks). Im not sure about the backache thing..if it doesnt go away or youre really worried, go ahead and call your doctor. They cant get mad at you for calling alot and trust me, they get paid ALOT for doing their job and yes, that is part of their job lol. Good luck, im sure everything is fine

I really wouldn't worry about it hun! If there was no actual blood then theres no worries
I used to get this all the time with my last pregnancy! Not so much in this one, dunno why maybe cos its my second? But I had a freak out about 30weeks last time cos the discharge was that thick you could hardly break it apart with my fingers (sorry really gross lol) so I can totally understand why your worried!

Call your doctor or midwife if your upset about it though, you know your own body

I'd take a paracetamol and rest. See how you feel after that. If there is more mucus or the pain doesn't subside then phone them, they won't be annoyed as people will be phoning the whole time and if it was something they wanted to see you for it would be better for them to know earlier! I think it probably is just an increase in discharge, but obviously you know your own body and what's normal. Good luck

Losing your plug isn't a sign of labour, you can lose it 'earlier' and your body will make more, if you're worried though call in just to be sure x

I've been losing mine since 23 weeks,
I know it's definately my pluh but it can regenerate itself, i wouldn't worry x

It sounds like it was some of it coming away . It can come away and grow back again so try not to worry . You'll know when i tis the full thing are there is a large and i mean LARGE amount and usually blood tinged . I was loosing mine months before i went into labout with both mine and already finding bits the pregnancy . Hope the pains feeling better soonx
