Lost parcel :(

So my Hermes delivery man stopped at our house on Friday to deliver a parcel but then couldn't find it. He's a regular delivery man for us so he we sure he had one but he said it was very small and it might have blown away or something. He marked it as delivered though and since it was bought privately off someone on eBay I guess I'm not getting the money back?

It was only £5 so not really worth arguing about but it had sentimental value. I'm so disappointed

Why did he mark it as delivered if it was not?

I suppose but a bit naughty as you did not receive it and as marked as delivered you cannot do anything about it!

No I didn't sign for it. He put that it was delivered to letter box. It doesn't seem worth fighting over for the sake of £5 but it is really cheeky of the guy. He delivers here regularly and never had a problem with him before x
