Low beta-HCG and alpha-fetal protein

Hi girls,

I just got a call from my ob/gyn; my 16wk bloods came back abnormally low for those two things and hv put my risk for Down's/Turners/Patau syndromes up to 1:81 combined with my age. They recommend an amnio, which I'm gonna do... Anyone had the same results and ev turned out fine? I'm in complete and total panic/shock, I don't know WHAT I'm gonna do if the test comes back positive...

I didn't experience this, but just wanted to give you a ***hug***. I'm sure this must be so scary, try to stay optimistic. 1:81 are still pretty good odds.

I got the FISH (the fast test) results back yesterday morning: all is well!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Lord, Ive never been so scared in my life!!! ugh. If we get pg again, Im doing the triple test in first tri, no question! :S

I am so pleased all is well for you. With Daisy they didn't offer me the triple test and the fact she has Spina Bifida wasn't picked up until birth so this time I've been going through hell with the tests.
