Just found out during pre IVF blood screening that I have a low egg reserve.....

can anyone give me any adivse or even some hope

Hi hun

I heard of a lady at my clinic who had an AMH reading of approx 3. She went on to produce 16 eggs. There was also another lady who only produced 2 eggs, both of which fertilised, both of which divided and were transferred, both of which implanted, and both of which stayed implanted.

I'm sure a low ovarian reserve isn't what you had hoped for, but it doesn't mean that you have no chance whatsoever. Most important thing is to try not to get too stressed out by it.

What happens next for you?

xx

thanks for your reply. I must admit went I called the nurse today and got the results I came off the phone and wanted to cry... am too young for the menopause, I thought!!! I now know (only through the internet) that its not quite the end of the world yet. I've tried to get intouch with the dr but she not returned my call/emails today. Untill I know the full picture and just how high my fsh is I shouldnt jump to conclusions! I hate this waiting.... its making me worry more.

Was it CD3 blood results you got or AMH results?

it was cd 2 fsh... but dont know the exact results. The nurse just told me I'll need to speak to the dr.

Hi, I just read this thread. I was wondering if you have already started your ivf cycle for May? If so, how are you doing?

I too have low ovarian reserve and just started my cycle last Tuesday. It's my first attempt at ivf, and when the doctor's told me that I had a very low amh (.50) to be exact, they almost did not want to even attempt the cycle on me. But I managed to get a second opinion and have done a lot of research and it seems many women go on to get pregnant. So don't loose hope!

xx

Mrs. T - don't give up hope. Speak to your Dr. to get the whole picture. A high FSH doesn't necessarily mean that you can't conceive. Many women have conceived with a high FSH. Their struggle is generally finding a clinic that will treat them, since many are worried about their stats, more so than helping women get PG.

I'm sure you will be fine though, and that your Dr. will have a solution for you. Keep us posted!

HI Mrs T
I also had low egg reserve and eggs of poor quality. I had 5 eggs and only one fertislised but didnt make it!! I also did IVF in March and going end of May to get my next date for cycle.

I also have endo and one blocked tube!!!!

I have heard Royal Jelly is good for eggs!!
