Low Estrogen??? ....clomid???

does anyone who has been told theyve got low estrogen been perscibed anything yet ? ...clomid?
i went to docs 2day and i asked if i cud have the cd21 test....but id not long had my hormons tested (with a consultant4somat eles) and ive to get these results bk on the 16oct,but as i was askin my doc4these tests.hes said the ones for the consultant had come bk,and ive low estrogen, im heartbroken,so he said if i go bk 4 blood tests again on cd21(1oct) to do it again and if comes bk the same,he'll refer me to gyne(4wks he said) he said then they will give u clomid? im totally and utterley gutted,i think it must of happened only in the past few mth as i got a bfp in feb and mc in mar08,but since then ive had 2 longer than usual cycles,i dont know wot levels of estrogen are "normal" if uv had this problem,wot were ur levels? and is this defo wot they give u ...clomid? ive taken baby asprin and maca for the past 3mth but cant really see this making any difference?doc knows bout maca 4got2 tell him bout asprin,but dought this makes any difference,any advise from anyone wud be appreciated,any positve advise will keep my hopes up,as right now i feel like 4getting the whole ttc situation
also how long from seeing the gyne,to him doing the test,to giving u a perscription did it take all in all? feelin so panicking over this,i just cant think straight

I don't really have any advice as I believe the prescription should be specific for the individual. My first thoughts are positive though, that at least you know which 'ingredient' is missing and there is definitely hope that this can be regulated/altered to improve your chances. Also, you have the added comfort of having fallen pregnant before, so you know that yourself and your partner are compatible.

It's also good that your doctor is thinking of options and you should take heart in the fact that he hasn't told you "sorry, you're chances are non-existent". That just simply isn't the case. Your chances are good as long as you can trace what the hiccup is and it looks as though your doc is onto the case.

My advice is not to question too much, but to go with the flow of whatever your doctor advises and try to research each element as it arises. For now, you need the extra blood tests and then onto the next step. Clomid has worked for so many people that if this is what your doctor chooses, then it may just be the help you need.

Either way, try not to worry too much (easier said than done) and occupy your life with other things as well as TTC. It's so easy to make it the ONLY thing you think about 24/7. I've been there and it's not healthy. Hope you're feeling better soon with lots of positive energy.

i don't know hun but i imagine its the same as having low progesterone, just a different drug?? im hoping something will "fix" my short luteal phase i.e clomid or progesterone tablets. Like Tish said at least they know what the prob is and can hopefully fix it x

progesterone and estrogen are maybe the same eh...or very very simular, estrogen is when u gear up for O but it doesnt happen and it needs a little encouragement is wot he said

hey there. my levels were all over the place too - don't have figures with me sorry! I had weekly blood test for about 8 weeks and was then referred to a gyne who, going by my blood results decided clomid was the best course of action. It took me 2 years to get to that stage but once i was referred to gyne (about 6 weeks after seeing gp) i was given clomid straight away. Good luck x

it took u 2yrs !!! oh well maybe im guna be a bit luckier than that...as i see 2 different docs, and the first who actually told me that we shud av cd21 done proper as the one that came bk low was from the consultant,so doc said we'll do cd21 then if its same will get u 2 gyne asap,then 2day i had an appointment with another doc i see and i was telling her about it,and i even said,wot if these tests on cd21 cum bk ok? she said cos uv got pg just once b4 and mc,will still send u to gyne as somat cant be right as i was tryin with 2 ex...b4 i got with gary,well one when i was 19-ish and was with my last x when i was 22-ish,never got pg at all,until i got with gary and got pg within 8mth,was extremley suprised as i totally belived i cud not get a bfp!! sadley mc,but i WILL not give up now,no way,garys taking his sperm sample 2hospital2moro,and it wud be fantastic if all his tests came bk all good FX, keep me posted bout the clomid,any symptoms u might av etc...pm me if u can anyways....wish u all the best

Honey08 I see that you are now Pregers how did you do it? I'm in the same boat you were. I have taken one round of Clomid do to low estrogen and I'm now on 2nd cycle. Day 19 and still no O. I would love some advice. There is so little info out there for this issue! Thanks

Sorry didnt mean to just post this message. I am new at this forum dont know really any short hand words but will get there. I have been off the pill since October 08 and have had anywhere between 38-57 day cycles - this month was 50mg of clomid and I had a good response to medication but doc was not sure that I was going to produce the right levels etc. I just had the 21 day blood test progestrone and it was all normal - but I am have been in so much pain the last week and look like I am 4 months pregnant from bloating. I have just started Maca Powder yesterday and today I am not in so much pain and my mood has lifted. I know that they say that it takes a while to work but I dont think that my Pcos is very bad -and all blood test come back with normal levels so maybe a short time on maca powder will work. waiting for the 2ww maybe these symptoms are positive ones?? fingers crossed.!!
