Hi I am currently pregnant with baby number 4. I have 3 boys and this is our first girl. I have had. Bunch of problems with this pregnant. First bet wasn't matching what ultrasound said we should see. Then I had a bunch of bleeding. That stopped at 12 weeks. Ever since that' everything seemed normal.

Went for a growth scan at 32 weeks and was quickly rushed to the hospital because my fluid level was only 6. I had ivs for 24 hours and my level went from a 6 to a 9. I got an ultrasound At 33 weeks and they said my level was 10. Ha an ultrasound today and my level was back down to a 9. The doctor said They'd like it above 10 but 9 is not dangerously low or anything. Now I need to go in every week for weekly ultrasounds. Every week I leave feeling very confused. Will I most likely end up delivering early because of this? I am right now having to do kick counts through out the day and weekly ultrasounds. I'm very scared and nervous I've never had any issues with any of my pregnancies so I'm of course terrified and don't even really understand what's going on what to expect. They're telling me I can go to full term but then make comments like" we will get your swab test next week and we will have it just in case". So that leaves me feeling hopeless and afraid ill have a baby before my due date. Help!

I had low fluid with my son. My levels were at 8 from 28 weeks until 36 weeks. I had to have an ultrasound every week to monitor. 8 was considered borderline with the norm being 8-18. At 36 weeks my level dropped to 3 and they admitted and induced me at that time. He is now a healthy 3 year old.

I was very concerned about low fluid this time around because of my history. I am having ultrasounds every week starting at 32 weeks. My fluid level at 28 weeks was 10 (made me nervous). For this weeks ultrasound- I drank only water the day before and more than I normally drink (I usually don't drink enough) and the drank 1 1/2 bottles of water prior to the ultrasound. My fluid level was 13 yesterday.

My advice- be prepared that you could have baby early and keep drinking water. Even if the little sweetie comes early, at 32+ weeks the baby is developed and is essentially just getting perfected. She would likely stay in the hospital, but not likely with complications. Good luck!!:hugs:

Thank you for responding!! I always thought anything over an 8 was normal but they keep sayin they like it above a 10. So if I Stay at a 9 I'm wondering if they'll let me go full term or not. They're also not doing growth scans. Just checking the placenta and fluid and checking to see if the baby is responsive during the ultrasound. I keep reading low fluid babies are smaller. Did your doctor check baby's weight and development? I wish mine would. At my normal growth scan at 32 weeks they said she was 4 lbs 10 ozs and tht was at 32 weeks. I'm just terrified of something going wrong quickly :( I get weekly ultrasounds and anything could happen within a week. Very nerve wrecking!!

They did check weight. My son was 7 pounds 3 oz at 36 weeks and is developmentally excellent. Your weight at 32 weeks sounds just right too. I just had my weight checked for 32 weeks and she is an estimated 4 pounds 13 oz which puts her in the 66%. I think stay if you stay at 9 then they will just continue to monitor. They were fine with mine being at an 8. I believe insurance only allows growth scans every 3 weeks. The main thing they are checking is the fluid/movement/ heart rate/blood flow. It is nerve wrecking, though. My sister had an ultrasound at 37 weeks and it turns out her fluid was at a 1. She was admitted right then and delivered, but even still my nephew was completely healthy.

We are experiencing the same thing, almost exactly! I had a routine ultrasound which showed my amniotic fluid at 6 cm, I was also rushed for an IV over night and it went up to a 9 as well! Anyhow, that was at 34 weeks. I will be 38 weeks in a few days. As long as your levels stay around 8, I'm sure they will let you go full term. Its so nerve racking though. Every week you have a day that could be delivery day. Its quite frustrating. I would suggest eating watermelon. I read it could help so i experimented. My fluid was 9 cm, i ate a large watermelon. The following week it was 16 cms! The past week i did not eat watermelon, my fluid measured 8.2 cm. This week i ate watermelon and it went up to 15 cm. So watermelon it is for me from now on. How this helps!

I had this with my now 20 month old.

At 34 weeks it was only 5cm. Each week it decreased- at 38 weeks it was 2cm :nope:

Despite my concerns, they said baby was fine and moving so they wanted him to stay in rather than out. They wouldn't induce me. Luckily he was born at 39 weeks healthy, but in hindsight i really thing they should have acted, but they never did a thing  xx

I also had repeat scans because my afi was bordering low. At 31 I was measuring as over and afi was also high 20.3 then booked in for growth scan baby big but nothing to worry about but fluid had dropped to 9.1. Week after gone up to 10cm but again no explanation for it.
