I know the healthy range right now for BHCG levels is between 10,000-40,000 but my quad screen just came back showing that I am at 9974. My Dr. called and asked me if I was spotting and feeling okay. I am feeling fine and baby is still active, but when I googled this situation it said that 1 in 2500 babies has defects from Trisomy 18, and if your BHCG levels are low in your second trimester that your chances are upped to 1 in 7. Freaking out a little bit and my next appointment with her isn't until the third, and my midwife won't be able to see me until like next week or so. I know there's nothing I can do if the baby has Trisomy 18.. but I'm still kind of terrified :( . Anyone have experience with this or have these results and end up just fine?

mine were elevated - so that put me at risk for Downs, and ultrasound showed pylectasis which increased baby's risk- however - my quad was wrong. panorama and later ultrasound concluded I was at no risk. the low levels can be due to another issue. My dr told me that high levels are associated with something else- so i have to do non stress tests starting at 34 wks.

The quad tests are horrible. I hate them and wish I never took it. they have a high false positive rate.

That is SO good to hear! I think I remember reading years ago before I was pregnant with my first baby that the quad screens were awful and inaccurate but I didn't remember that until just now when I read the same thing from you. THANK YOU. I feel so much better now.
