had my 20 week scan today & the sonographer said my plancenta is low lying so have to have another scan at 34 weeks to see if its moved. Is it likely to have moved by then or is it most probably stuck where it is now? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks ladies

As your uterus grows it should move the placenta up with it. So I definitely think it will move up. I had early placental previa with my ds and it did move up. I was placed on pelvic rest and light activities until it did though, but I was bleeding, cramping, and passing clots. No issues with previa later. He was born at 38+4.

I'm a sonographer Hun. I would say 80% or more move by 34 weeks as the uterus grows. Mine is low lying too but I'm not worried. I know it will likely move xx

Is it anterior or posterior. I had a low lying anterior placenta with ds2, i had a scan at 32 + 36 weeks and it had moved enough by then to have a natural birth. Its more likely to move if its anterior. Hope that helps.

i'm the same. i'm back in on Monday to see if it has moved. fingers crossed. Though its posterior, so i'll find out soon enough

I have one too. 9mm from OS and not put on any restrictions. My Dr. tells me he's 99.9% sure it will move. My cousin, interestingly enough also had this and she just had her scan to recheck and her's moved to 4cm away so she's all clear now. My Dr. specifically told me not to worry about this and enjoy my pregnancy. So that's what I'm doing. :)
