OH just got his results which weren't good. Count was 33 mill but fast progressive 2%, slow progressive 33% and then the rest basically useless. The doc we saw yesterday was rubbish and told us not to stress and to do a third sample. We've booked to see the initial doc we saw as they were great but just wanted some ideas what the process will be now, other than trying to improve motility with zinc etc???

Hi
Didnt want to read and run... I can't help, but my OH has just had his results back which came back with some lazy swimmers, we havent had the full analysis (i.e numbers) sent to us yet but I'll be chasing them for it today.
Hope you get some advice from a good doc, we're now being referred to a fertility specialist

Hey Kidloco

We also suffer from MFI.

I would highly recommend getting a good multi vit for your OH for conception - if you are the UK then Wellmans Conception are a good brand - they contain all the right vits and my DH also takes Maca and 1000mg of Vit C every day. The motility is now above normal so it's really helped.

3 SAs is pretty good going - especially if they have been done 3 months apart as it gives a much truer reading than just 1 or 2 - ours have been up and down but the motility has improved since all the vits.

Good luck x

heya hun :hugs: just wanted to share our experience with you as it might give you some comfort x x x

my DH's swimmers were awful on his first SA (i can't remember count, but it was the homer-simpson type!). reducing beer, cigarettes, eating fresh and healthy (lots of smoothies) and a multi-vit from the supermarket all sent his count rocketing, and he is borderline "normal".

i hate it when people say don't stress, or just relax, because that doesn't help you do anything proactive.

i hope things work out for you hun x

Thanks for the advice. It's my birthday this weekend and hubby is whisking me off for a couple of days somewhere so will let him have a pig out weekend and then it will be healthy healthy all the way x

Hi Kidloco1 I'm in the same boat, In May I found out I have pcos which doesn't allow me to ovulate they of course put me on metformin which didn't help me ovulate, so it was time to move to clomid but they wanted to do a seman analysis last week. Unfortunately my hubby was abnormal, his ph was off and sperm count was low. Now we have to wait for the clomid until we see a fertility specialist... I'm hoping there is something natural we can do to get his swimmers together.

hey ladies my sperm donor is handing in a sample tommorow for analysis, i am in uk would he get results tommorow by fone or do u think thel send out a letter? desperate to find out!!!

Hi, I know how you feel. My hubbys results were pretty bad. He has less than 1M  and the few that are there have low motility

We have seen a FS and we are just having more tests. Hoping the next SA will be better.

Its good to talk to people going through the same thing :hugs:

Hope you have a fab weekend

I just wanted to share this information that I researched. There have been a few studies that show that CoQ10 300mg improves sperm motility! Once we decided to TTC, DH started to take the following supplements:

CoQ10 - 300mg
Men's multivitamin containing Lycopene 1G
L-Carnitin 500mg twice a day

I don't know what his counts were before, but after 3 months on the above supplements he has:

61% motility
80 millions count
7% morphology

Doctor said SA is as good as it can be. Was concerned a bit about volume, 1.5, but said that most likely it was low due to stress:haha:

Anyway, hope this helps a bit
