I have posted this in other threads in the hopes I find someone who can shed any light.
Has anyone had a low platelet count.
I am a bit miffed however, I had my last bloods taken at end of Sep. Have seen consultant since who said all bloods were fine, I am B12 deficient and I am prone to amaemia, and those levels and my second GTT test were all great.
I then get a letter the other day from a midwife saying that on those bloods my platelets were low and I have to have them repeated within 7 days, so I am going to get them taken tomorrow.
I am a HCA for the NHS so I do have some medical knowledge, I just really would like to know what happened to you, as I have googled info about it and I know it can be normal and have no bearing on the remainder of the pregnancy but it can also be linked to pregnancy related conditions and if it goes to low can be a worry for anyone having c-section or epidural and can cause excessive bleeding and poor clotting...I am due planned c-section you see :/
so any info from any mums who have experienced this and what happened to you would help x
