Low Sperm Count & TTC Question???

My hubby has a low sperm count......my question is because of this how often should we have sex during my ovulation time?? as i have heard different stories, some saying every other day and others saying every day to build up his count any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

How low is his count?

I would definately not do daily. Daily will only deplete him, not build him up. I would go for every other day, or do a one time shot.

I would abstain for several days prior as well. At least 3-4. Even longer if it's really low.

We are not sure how low his count is as he has only taken in a sample today! he was diagnosed with a lsc 10 yrs ago when he was in a previous relationship, but despite that he went on to have a son, it took his partner over a year to concieve, we have been together 6 years which in that time he has had a double transplant and is also diabetic on insulin so we dont know if that has caused him further fertility problems we are both trying to stay positive but im really concerned as he does not produce much at all sorry (tmi) this is our 2nd month ttc and last month we BD cd6, cd8, cd10, cd11, 13, 14 & 15 so maybe it was too much

That depends on whats low, the SA should measure, semen volume ,the total sperm count , sperm count per milliliter ,sperm motility (how fast they swim) and sperm morphology ( the health of the sperm) also the PH should be tested.
also the length of abstinence prior to the SA can affect the results.

for my DH the count was slightly low but his morphology was great so we abstain for 3-4 days before ovulation sometimes as long as 7 days but never longer then that as sperm morphology tends to decline after that many days of abstinence .

Yes, every other day if he has low sperm count, that will give you the best chance!

Thankyou 1cr8tivgrl how funny that you have replied on my thread, i have been quietly stalking your journal and im hoping you get your BFP on monday

I am going to take a risk the last time we was on cd9 and the next time will be cd14 then cd16 which is when i think i will get my 1st peak on my cbfm and then again on my 2nd peak, i am hoping and preying this method will work.

Thanks hun i'm going to take your advice! and we are going to leave BD'ing 4-5 days which will hopefully be 2 days before ovulation fingers crossed.
