Hiya, just after any advice anyone can give
I had a gtt done in pregnancy with DS and it was borderline, I monitored my levels and tended to get lower readings that higher, but didnt know much about gd and presumed that it was fine because at least the levels wernt high - so I ate what I wanted really.
Anyway, it seems GD has kicked in again at a similar time in this pregnancy as I have got a few low reading, my lowest being 2.3 this morning
Considering it was so low I didnt feel too bad - a bit light headed and not right and a few of those fuzzy spots in my eyes, but I have had similar before yet my levels have been low 4's.
Anyway - Im not seeing anyone until 34 weeks - the midwife said no point doing the gtt as she said I obviously had it mildly as I told her my levels with DS were fine and if anything low, and DS was born at 6 pounds 8 oz's.
So said to use the old tester I have to keep an eye on them.
Should I arrange to see anyone sooner?
Im planning on trying to stick to low gi foods and eating every 2 hours and monitoring my levels so should know if they are low.
The reason they were so low this am was because we were out of milk so for brekkie I had marmalade and jam on toast with a glass of orange juice, and then an hour or so later 2 cookies, so a lot of sugar!
Bubs has been a bit quieter the last few days ever since I noticed the lower levels, but then I have been really busy so harder to take notice of the bigger movements.
Any advice on good foods to eat that wont end up with a huge sugar level drop would be great.
Im planning on porridge, hummus and breadsticks/cucumber/cheese, chicken sarnie, usual dinner but wholegrain pasta/rice, nesquik milk before bed - not sure if that low gi anymore though - I did get some of those new breakfast biscuits which say they are wholegrain but they tasted quite sweet.
