Has anyone else found out they had low vitamin D? I just found out that my levels are at 17 when normal is 30-100 and healthy is closer to 60-90. It was the only thing that came back abnormal on a whole panel of blood work. I've been doing a lot of reading and apparently(amongst others things) it can suppress ovulation and cause poor uterine function to which I don't ovulate and I've been bleeding for some 82 days now. So for me it could explain a lot but it seems too easy to just take a pill everyday, build up on something I already need and be normal again...
Anyone else have experience with low vitamin D? Any (hopefully positive) results? Please share! I want so bad just to healthy again and to have a healthy baby of my own.
Thanks!

Hello I was just diagnosed with low Vit D as well which they didn't tell me what that means or what problems it could cause. I just started taking a supplement so I guess we shall see.

I have been ttc #7 since 10/2013 to no avail. Did your doctor put you on any other meds?

My doctor told me to get Maximum D3, take one pill everyday for 2 weeks and then 2 pills a week after that. I'm also taking a new/better prenatal vitamin.
How low were your Vit D levels? How much are you taking now?

My partner was diagnosed with low Vit. D as well, and was prescribed some from the doctor which she promptly finished and never refilled, since she had a subsequent blood test and the results were in the normal range (this was prior to TTC). After trying to conceive for a few months with no success, we decided she should start taking over the counter vitamin D and upping the levels naturally by drinking whole milk and eating kale, spinach and lots of leafy greens just in case, since she had been low before and we figured it couldn't really hurt-After about a month of upping the Vit. D she got pregnant. It unfortunately ended in a chemical pregnancy, but I can't help but feel like the Vitamin D played a role in helping her conceive at least. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for sharing! I've read other stories like it so it's getting me very very hopeful that maybe this is the answer to our ltttc journey. A girl can only hope, right?
Good luck to you too!

I found out recently my D level is 18 so I have been taking 5000 IU of vit D every day for the last month. I won't get a redraw for a few more months. I'm only 9DPO but I have noticed some big changes this cycle. This was a first time I got a positive opk+ (first month of temping but that did confirm that I ovulated also). First cycle I've ever gotten EWCM. So i'm trying to remain hopeful :) My doctor also recommended i started taking vitamin C, B6, B12 and a prenatal. So I can't be sure if it's the D on its own but I can tell I have a lot more energy. :) good luck keep us updated! and if you ever need to message someone feel free! A few girls and myself have found that very helpful. :hugs:

That's definitely hopeful for me! Mine was 17 and I'm on 10,000 iu a day for two weeks and then 20,000 a week for indefinite after that. I'm only a week into it and I feel better. Not depressed, wake up better, more energy, my bleeding has finally almost stopped after 84 days of nonstop bleeding. I just really hope I can ovulate on my own finally! Thank you for the hope!
