Hi ladies I am new to this section and Hubby just got his first SA done, ad doc said he has low volume so "everything is low" She is going to give me the numbers tomorrow when I see her for cd 3 bloodwork. What does the low volume mean and she wants us to do another SA but it was 190.00. How many times does he need to do it to get an accurate result?

Hi hun!

Don't get stressed. One result is not enough to decide if your DH has any issues or not. The results can vary due to many things, like maybe stress of the test or recent illness and so on. In any case avoiding over heating (due to laptops or hot baths) and eating healthy plus taking vitamins before the next test can help.

Hi nurseh,

We did 3 in total. The first two we were only looking at count, but in the third we looked at count as well as motility and morphology and all sorts.
You certainly can try some lifestyle stuff to improve the overall count, and I have heard of people having great success with that.
For other people, depending on how bad/low the count is and what the cause is, lifestyle won't fix it.
But there are other options that can work in those cases. Like IUI if your problem isn't too severe. Otherwise IVF with ICSI can be really effective. That's where we're headed next.
Good luck to you honey and don't give up! :flower:
