It's been 2 weeks and the area above my scar is still numb!!!! How long does it take to go back to normal?

my tummy from jut above my belly button to just above my lady bits was numb for at least 4 - 6 weeks before the numbness started to recede towards the scar. now (after 4 months) it's still abit number around the scar.

At almost 6 weeks pp I've more or less just got numbness surrounding the scar itself, perhaps about 1cm on either side. I'm still having moments of my nerve endings flaring back to life, but I know it can take some time for nerve endings to heal up fully, sometimes up to months.

It's only been 4 days since my section, but I was worrying about this and asked my doctor...according to him it's 100% normal and can sometimes take 6+ months for feeling to return :flower:

It's such an odd sensation though...or lack of LOL :haha:

I was having the same issue. My entire belly was numb for the first couple weeks, it was so odd! I'm five weeks out today and similar to the other ladies, the numbness has receded to just around the incision site.

I have a small patch under my belly button that always feels different from the rest of my stomach.

Mine took about a year but like x_amour I do have an odd spot on my scar that still feels a bit off and it's been 4 years.

wow that's a long time!! it does feel weird, lol.

I'm still numb a couple of cm all around my scar. Need to shed some weight though so hopefully it should get less. It's been nearly 7 months since I had dd.

It is an odd feeling :-)

I'm 14 months post c-sec and the bottom part of my tummy near my scar is still numb. I'm sort of used to it now though!

I had my daughter 15 weeks ago via c-section and I still have the numb feeling!
I asked my doctor how long it would be numb for and he said its different in every woman but it's normal! My friend had a c-section 6 years ago and she still has abit of numbness x

There is an area just above my scar that's still numb almost 3 years on. Midwife said numbness can be permanent :(

I didn't think the numbness went??!

My mum had my little sister 18yrs ago and part of her scar is still numb.
I had my son 17mths ago and mine is still numb

My DD is 16 months and I still have little numbness feeling above my scar/lower tummy. Although its no where near as numb as the weeks following my section.

I am pregnant again now and am wondering what to do as DD was a EMCS due to her turning and my contraction slowing, I know what I am doing now with a section but would also like to try vbac....lots of research to be done :-D

Mine was for 6-9 months, than it went away. SOme people it never goes away. it depends on when the nerves in that area heal from being cut, IF they do.

Mine is still a little numb now, I remember it taking a long time to come back after Coralie too :(
