I havent seen a forum like this, so I decided to start one. If there's already one, i apologize! This is for people who have been trying for over 5 years to get pregnant, and need some support. Most of the other boards I see for LTTTC are 1-3 years.

I'll kick things off.

I'm B, 28 (almost 29). I've been trying to get pregnant since Nov 10, 2005. yep, 7 years.

I went on bcp for heavy AF at 14, and came off it at 15 (roughly around there). I stopped having periods completely, and then got them back around 21 or so, but only once, maybe twice a year. some years were none. I went to doctor in 2006, just before getting married and the doctors told me everything was fine. No testing was done since I'd just started ttc in Nov. I ended up pregnant in September or October of 2010 - I got the + test in Oct, but I wasn't having AF so I have no idea when it happened. It ended in a m/c. Bloods showed 3 weeks, but there was no telling if it was right. Went to the OB and they found "tissue" in my uterus and said to come back in 3 weeks. I went straight to my GP and in a matter of a week, I had found out i was pregnant, and lost it. Well, after that i dont know if my biological clock started ticking or what, but i decided i was GOING to have a baby.

October 10, 2011 - almost exactly 6 years after i started - i was diagnosed with pcos. 4 months later, i was tested for thyroid problems and found i have those, too. I started metformin and i started having AF again, but its still not normal. cycles very from 32-46 days. I temp (but i dont think im doing it right!) and OPK. I still dont know if I ovulate or not.

OH and i decided to split, so now throw in needing a sperm donor into my mix of problems, and its all kinda depressing. I joined BnB to find support, but to be honest, its even more depressing. So many people getting pregnant after trying for only 1 or 2 cycles, at most a year. So i figured, why not find more people who are really long term ttc? I know there are others out there feel the same way, so why not make friends with people who have the same issues? :flower:

Hi. I've been TTC since 2007, but with a small break in 2011 for relationship problems. Got divorced in early 2012. Started over again with my new fiance. Saw my RE for the first time in July this year.
No known problems. Regular ovulation, regular cycles, etc. I do regularly get ovarian cysts, but don't have other PCOS signs. Saving up for HSG $900.
I've been TTC for 4+ years if you subtract the break period. Can I join?

Hello I've been trying for 5 years next month. I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis before I even met my DH so knew that it'd be an issue when we decided to start TTC. After a year of NTNP, we got referred to the FS who did the usual tests - bloods, SA, HSG, US etc. My weight was always an issue for getting treatment though and I didn't really do anything about it until this year.

Following the HSG, we were told that we'd be eligible for IVF based on our history (classed as unexplained infertility), but that I'd have to get my weight down first. The following cycle I got pregnant naturally but sadly miscarried. I finally got serious about losing weight in Feb this year. So now we are on the waiting list for IVF.

I found out that the NSAID's I've been taking the whole time we've been TTC, for mild arthritis can cause temporary infertility, so I made the decision to stop taking them. The clinic redid my progesterone tests and I ovulated that cycle but we redid them last cycle to make sure it wasn't a fluke and I didn't ovulate then, so I will be starting clomid next cycle.

Hi there,

I've been trying for around 9 years now...unexplained infertility. I've been through just
about everything...IUIs, IVF, etc, so now we're just trying 'home remedies' instead of the invasive stuff. (opk's, softcups, aspirin for this month!)

I keep hearing stories of people with long term infertility who finally get pregnant on their own, so I'm still just hoping that this will be the case with us as well!

Hi
Im 29, been trying with DH for about 8 years, well NTNP and TTC
DH had 2 SA's, both ok, could be better but nothing that should stop us.

I have cycles 35-75 days apart but mainly around the 50 day mark, last progesterone showed borderline ovulation, just done 3 more tests, 1 each week to get more results.

TV scan shows ovarian cyst and uterine polyp, just waiting for appointment to come through for a lap, dye and hysteroscopy to remove the polyp so although gotta wait for that at least will get all 3 over in one hit asleep and then got follow up appointment with consultant on 28/12/12 so should no everything by then, they think its endometriosis and judging by my stupidly heavy and painful periods I think they're right!

DH also has to 2 do more SA's as last 2 were over a year ago now.

Sorry to hear about your m/c B and the split

Like Amy im also hoping to be one of the miracles that just happens naturally after years, although I love seeing all the sucess stories I just know im not going to be that lucky! At the moment im not doing too much in the way of TTC, no temping etc as I was useless at that anyway and my cycles are far too long for OPK's so Im just really waiting now for the lap and hoping this is the clean up I need for a natural bfp!

Good luck everyone xx
