Hello,

I have been a member for a while but got fed up and haven't been posting lately. We have been TTC for 19 months now. Im 23 and Oh is 31. Both healthy apart from me being about 1 and a half stone over weight. I was wondering if anyone has concieved usuing pre seed and how quicky? I have dryness problems so we have been using Asda's own lube which is really cheap. However having read a lot of stuff about certian lubricants damaging sperm I have ordered pre seed and OPKs. Does anyone know if the cheap lubricant could be causing fertility problems and also if pre seed might work?
Also will losing weight help me? I used to have irregular cycles but am now averaging about 33 day cycles. I get all the signs/syptoms of ovulation also.

Thanks :flower:

Hi Sully,
I'm not sure about the preseed, but I've heard that it is sperm friendly.

Regarding weight, it's best if your BMI is in a normal range (less than 30, I believe). Sorry, I have no idea what the weight is of a stone and a half.
The most important thing would be having regular cycles. I would be most concerned about that. When a woman is heavy, the fat can store estrogen, which can throw off the menstrual cycle. So, being less heavy would make someone have less fat to store estrogen, and therefore more likely to have regular cycles.

That's all in theory of course. :dohh:

Good luck.

I started using Pre Seed 2 months ago now. It's definitely recommended to be sperm friendly

I got pg my first month using pre-seed and clomid. The pg was ectopic, but I highly recommend preseed. We've kept on using it even though IVF is our only option now.

My doctor told me not to worry too much about which lube to use and seeing as OH is very sensitive and I tend to be quite dry, we have a specially prescribed lube which is extra, um, slidey. It's running out though so I was thinking of giving Preseed a go, but only if I can find out just HOW lubricating it is.

I got pregnant after using sasmar lube for 2 months, i bought mine from boots £14.99 but you do need to buy a syringe, a lot less messy:thumbup:

I had tried for 9 years and then had 3 x ivf's which all failed, and then conceived naturally:thumbup:

Pre seed and conceive + are good! I use pre seed

got myself some sasmar lube too and will be using today,xx

Thanks ladies. We have been using the pre seed this month. I was suposed to ovulated by now but haven't so getting annoyed and worried. Blueeyedgirl I would recommend preseed as it is quite a watery lube and lasts a long time. I use the syringes and it really is good.

Thanks sully. The prescription lube we have it more slippery than the watery stuff, like a natural silicone feeling. It's really what we need as otherwise sex just hurts too much for OH. I'll ask my GP next time I'm in, provided it's not run out by then.

Your welcome blueeyedgirl1. Just read your journal ticker/thing. Sound like we may have some stuff in common. Im also in my twenties (23), we have been trying for 18 months. TTC our first child also. Never had a BFP at all though. And have lost count of how much we have spent on supplies and the countless hours I have spent trolling the internet. I'm from the UK too. xx
