DH and I decided to name baby after my grandmother if it's a girl, because we've had several coincidences with baby like date of birth and so on.

She was Hispanic and went by Lucy but her birth certificate said Lucia. Which do you all prefer? I'm thinking Lucy because Lucia will probably get shortened to Lucy anyways.

Thank you ladies! We'll most likely go with Lucy.

Lucia is pretty... Lucy is plain and boring imho

I much prefer the elegance of Lucia.

I've heard it pronounced "Loo-see-ya" and "Loo-Chee-ya" and I like the latter.

I find Lucia really ugly, sorry! I don't know why. Lucy is lovely though.

If we were to got that route it would be pronounced loo-see-ah. That is how my grandmother pronounced it.

Thank you ladies! DH and I did decide we will go with Lucy for sure since that's what I had known my grandma as.
