Maintenance question

Does maintenance you get from FOB get taken into account when claiming?

I ask because to all intents and purposes I will be a single mum (at least to start with) and will be claiming. And we will have a private agreement in place though it's not been agreed as yet. I've been told that the job centre will ask for evidence of this ....... baby isn't due till March so I dont' see how they can ask yet. and don' see how it's relevant till baby is here anyway.

I've also been told that they can get csa on him even if I say its a private agreement and I dont' want csa involved at all. How do I make sure that doesnt happen.

you dont have to get CSA involved anymore. Also pretty sure the rules changed in April last year and maintenance gets ignored when claiming

is and ctc dont take into account maintenence anymore but not sure about anything else.

hb and ctb dont either.

The job center shouldnt even ask you for FOB's details!
When i go they just ask if i am recieving maintenance, but only because they want me to be aware that i can claim it, they never even ask for his name let alone his contact details.

And as someone else said, maintenance doesnt affect your IS or CTC anymore

Yeah the rules changed last year and maintenance gets ignored when claiming benefits now, whatever FOB pays you is yours u dont have to declare it to benifits anymore! x

After all that i'm not sodding entitled anyway as i have more than £65 a week coming in erm why the dickens didn't they just tell me that on the phone ffs ???

i might just might get ctax help but that's not certain either. Insane.
